sadly there's no shortcut to anything unless
you can figure out how to steal someone like Invent's Brain and combine it
with yours but i dont think it would be worth your trouble
your gonna have to take some time but some easy ways to do it would be to:
Read some Bookies For Dummies,in 10 minates,etc..
or if you a cheapwade print off PHP Tutorials and read them in spare time so you
dont waste constant hours reading stuff do it on school time read it on the bus
in ur car or in study hall
trust me after a while it doesnt seem like it took that long :)

Don't bother printing anything off, view other people's sources, see how they did things.
If you don't understand functions.. look them up (http://www.php.net).
Always view the examples on how to use things, that is a main thing.
Just try to think how things would be done.

That's what I did and look where I am now :8
I learnt the basics by editing Eric30's Request Script (obv. ive learned more) there is like no point buying books as they're boring and cost alot.

I have 2 PHP books and generally they aren't that useful.
PHP.net and other peoples scripts are fab. I learnt PHP by editing Housekeeping v1 to get rid of the bugs.
Good luck,
Jake.

Exactly what I did.
Then I decided to make an auto DJ script. Found out PHP isn't my thing - I'm too impatient and can't be bothered with the technicalities ^^. Anyway, the Auto DJ script kinda works except I can't be bothered to find out how sample rates work - the auto dj wouldn't play songs because they had incorrect sample rates...... anyway.... you kinda gotta be patient and spend a lot of time on it to conquer it :)

The problem with viewing sources is
it can get you VERY far with html
i didnt even know about guides when i learnt html
php you cant view the source on pages its hidden
because its processed on the server before view'd to
your browser
so you cant just go up to a site and say HEY i like that!
lets look at the source so i can learn that! but its
still a reasonable way to learn :)
