for songs, i have
150 by sonic youth. while they arent my favorite band they're by far who i have most of, since they've been coming out with a record pretty consistently for the past 20 years.
112 by nirvana, but more than half of those are on the box set i got a few years back, and are unlistenable to be honest.
107 by modest mouse, which is everything but their b-sides.
96 by radiohead. ive got basically everything by them other than pablo honey (which is their first and only bad album) and their live album. i'll get their live album soon i think, but i've never been one for live albums.
84 by beck. he's got a few albums i dont listen to at all, really.
78 by elliott smith.

as for albums;

yeah, and its not even all of it. they've got some b-sides and eps. which ones do you have? they don't have any bad albums, really. but good news for people who love bad news will always be my favorite because if it wasn't for that album, i wouldn't know what i'd be listening to these days. that album is how i discovered indie.

edit: i'll guess you have their most recent two, GNFPWLBN and we were dead before the ship even sank (as those two combined add up to 30). yes, they're both great, their older stuff is a tad bit different, but by no means bad. hardcore fans of modest mouse (discluding myself) usually mark the lonesome crowded west and the moon & antarctica as their best albums.

Yeah you're right, got those two, both excellent. Will have to get one or some of the older albums too. Can't wait for some new material as well though. It's a shame that the only person I know who has interest in them is my brother, who introduced them to me years back.

yeah... if u like ministry of sound, there is a compilation series you should check out called "Euro Club Hits" --

it's pretty clear that dance music is coming back around the world -- just check the recent big American hip-hop and R&B hits which are clear rip-offs of the european dance style.....

yeah, they're coming out with an ep soon apparently. should be good. their old stuff is a bit more folksy, i'd say. its kinda a folksy punk, really. some of the lyrics are extremely witty, but a lot are very depressing, haha. where i am, it's just the opposite. there are so many people i know who adore modest mouse, they're probably one of the most popular bands in my school. one of my friends owns every single album and ep, every shirt they have, and has seen them four times. he says there's not a single song by them he doesnt like. i can't say the same, but they really are one of my favorite bands ever.
