Why did habbo make _'s uncreatable? Is/was there any specific reason?

I guess because users would make names such as "___" and it would show them as blank spaces?

Makes sense. But then again, they could made it so if you wanted to include a "_" that you'd have to use some other character too.. :S

_'s in names haven't been available to register since around October-November 2002. In other words if you see anyone with an _ in their name, you can safely assume that user was made in 2001 or 2002.
I think this was implemented around the same time HC was released. I heard the reason was to do with HC and errors involving registering names with these characters during the current release at the time.
(from what I remember..)
Other characters that cannot be used now are > and +
e.g. dentist_boy, +ZeRo+, <Seburo>

they should bring them back..
I heard it was to do with buying credits or something.
Can't remember ^_^
But then again, LW has a '_' in his name...

It was to do with credits because you used to send your habbo name off in a text. I guess it caused all sorts of problems with the accounts which had _ and > in their names.

It's because it causes all sorts of problems when giving out badges to those users with _'s in them.

Um, well considering the whole badge craze wasn't around at the time of habbo restricting _'s I very much doubt it.

Is that why I think <<El_punky>> has badges (something like that)
