Right i just ordered a router off ebay. Im just curious how it will work with my computer and xbox 360.

So do i just link up the router like i did with my speedtouch usb modem. Then connect the xbox to the router via ethernet. Would it work straight away? Lol

Im a bit of a router noob

If you add it to the accepted devices it should work. My friend has his PS3
hooked up the same way.

Ethernet from modem to routers "Internet"/"WAN" port
Ethernet to PC from something like "LAN1" on router
Ethernet to PS3 from something like "LAN2" on router

I assume it is wireless so ask for your ISP provider - they should give you an ip addy which you type into internet explorer and this will allow you to see all you your router settings and you can add the device. You may need their help to set it up and set a password on it so its secure and can't be used except for the devices you name.

O.o' he said he uses his mouth for most things, that's why I'm asking.
How the hell can he use his tongue on a 360 pad.

You wont need to allow it, just turn UPnP on and plug it in, in most cases the router comes with UPnP on as standard.

Yes sorry I thought it was wireless. Yes just try and plug directly into the back of your router.

UPnP automatically opens ports in the router's firewall for trusted apps like the 360 live etc.
