Cinema ticket prices.

Since ticket prices seem so varied, I was just wondering what you guys pay to watch a movie at your local/nearest cinema.

I pay £7.10, but can get a ticket for £5.40 with my student card. But that is still a lot...
My friend went to see a movie in Leicester Square yesterday and said the ticket was something like £14!? And then theres the food, damn...

So, how much are the tickets wherever you are?

£7 or so here too. What sucks is how quickly cinema prices have risen. Someone showed me two tickets, one to the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, costing £3.50 and another to the latest which was about £7.50. :l

And lol @ the prices of food. My teacher got loads of food from one, thinking it'd be £5 or something and it ended up costing her £14..

All depends on the quality of the cinema I guess, and obviously the quality of the film.

I think it depends on what day it is... like sundays are cheaper.

Here it's like $11 or something for a ticket for adults
for kids under a certain age I dunno what it is.

there are two main cinemas in oxford, george st. and magdalen st., with a sainsburys in between both.
so i just go to sainsburys and buy **** loads of food and hide it in my jacket lol. i look rly overweight but **** am i paying like 2.90 for a packet of munchies.

Well all Cineworlds around the UK have the same ticket prices, just like all other cinemas have their own statutory rates. They don't change depending on your area, the prices are permanent, hence the feature of online booking.

Oh, and if you want to avoid paying the adult ticket price and you're a student without a card, just buy student tickets online and the only person you have to see is the guy standing by the screens, who presumes that you've been to the box office already. It also beats underage viewing.

its £8 for adults, £4 children but £3 before the 1pm showing.
popcorn is ranges from £1.50 to £4.50 depending on the size. the largest one is huge tho, i personally think its worth it. if two people split it it could easily last a film.
drinks are £1.20 to £4

we always bring our own stuff in, our cinema is a minute walk from the supermarket. we have massive bags of stuff and they never check

i pay nothing as i have a monthly pass for my cinema my mum pays £30 i can go whenever i want just show the box office and they give me tickets

Staples corner is £5.20 for child and £6 adult. (14 and below is child)

i couldn't care less about downloading music, but i do care about movie downloading. the only way studios can make money is by people going to see them, they don't have any other means of income, while recording artists tour, and nothing can subvert that. im not worried so much about big studios as i am independent films which would be the first to feel the blow from it.

Last time I went I got charged £7 a ticket.

after 5pm Fri and all day Sat - £6.25
after 5pm Mon-Thur and all day Sun - £5.25

When you buy a ticket, you get £1 off your next ticket :)

Its an excellent cinema, all digital :D
But in the end, after popcorn & a drink (Well iced fanta lol) it comes up to around £10.50.

I work at a cinema and the prices arent to bad they only go through the roof if you are watching a 3D film and I would allways suggest people buy food before they go in as the food is a rip off and its the lowest quality food you can find.

same, except the only films i download are massive films, like cloverfield. this is because i know that the film has been hyped up so much, millions will go to see it. therefore they're not going top miss my £10, of which they probably see about £2

if i go meadowhall vue its like a fiver for a adult ticket? which i have to get if i want to see 15's... then its like 4.50 or something for a child which i get if its only a pg or whatever ill just get a child one because im only 14 lol! i think its same for vue at clifton moor, in york aint been there in a while. Because Jake, we are not mainly based in York some of them are in Castleford and near Doncaster so it's easier for everyone to go to XScape, either way it's 20 mins to XScape whereas it's 30 - 45 mins to Vue from where I am :P
