Hello everyone :)
The other night I had a few friends round, and my friends wanted to see how my hair looked straightened. Anyway they done it, and they said it looked really good (my hair is long but isn't that straight naturally). But there's some things I'm worried about. Firstly, if I decided to keep it cause I think it looks good, I'm worried about maybe some people commenting on it at school (I know I shouldn't care but I do :P). Also, I used my sisters straighteners so how much are decent straighteners, reasonably priced, because she wont let me use hers. Also, seeing as a friend actually done it, how do I straighten my hair lol because I don't know how :S Everyone says its easy but I tried it once a while ago and it looked a bit crazy :P
Anyway, thanks for any replies in advance :)

Well, If you trust your sister, would you let her do it for you until she trusts you to do it by yourself? She could even teach you.
Basicly you just grab them, get your hair and pull it away from your head and straighten it

Is it normal for steam to come out lol?
Sorry I must seem dumb but I don't have experience in this

At school the most they'll say to you is "Your hair looks straight. Did you straighten it?" so I wouldn't worry much about that
You should get some 'man' hair straighteners - they're smaller and that's supposed to make it easier to straighten shorter hair.
yeah, Steam usually comes out. Sometimes it makes a crackling noise too which is normal, Espec if youve got gel on it or stuff.

You should go for GHD's or ceramic straighteners as these are the best ones, you dont have to get expensive ones to be decent but they less expensive ones are harder to find.

£20-£30 ish is the price range. I don't think it matters how expensive they are too be truely honest. All of them straighten hair, you're just paying for how fast it heats up and how reliable really. But £20-£30 is a good price range for a decent one.
Hmmm, I sort of know how to straigten hair... But I can't explain it. I've done it once on myself, but couldn't tell the difference, mine's naturally straight :P

You can have my sisters old one if you want? There are a few smaller hairs stuck there though.. about 2-3cm long??
Don't burn your hair though ;)

I use to have these crappy ones that were about £20 and they didn't really work. GHDs are great though, you only have to do that piece of hair once whereas with the cheap ones you find yourself doing the same bit over and over.
If you've got the money go for GHDs, they're by far the best. :)

straightened hair looks awesome on guys >_> especially me oviously... Lol
decenty straighteners value at about £25-£35 ... so not too much... and they never die xD!
but yeah... school/college/uni w.e you get commens about length of hair - not if it's straightened or not... and straightened hair kinda goes with my look so i generally get less comments... lol... xD!!
My hair is like down to my lower back... takes 40mins to straighten ... so might wana think about the time it'll take before you take it up =P

Your hair is down to your lower back and your a guy? Wow lol doesn't your school say anything about it, like tell you to get it cut?
And when I say get comments, I mean bad comments. See, my hair has been kinda messy for a while and people have got used to it now lol so it might be a big change

I hate long limp, super straight hair on guys, it's stupid. I'd much rather see someone with messy hair with a bit of wax or whatever to ruffle it up.

It works better after it's been straightened though.

I got short, waxed hair... asher ;) lolol.
i dont see the point in straightening it really. i wanted to try once but i just prefer my hair naturally. it looks ok most of the time.
I straighten my fringe and parts of my hair, then ruffle it, looks lush :P

There isn't really point getting GHDs, there great for long hair and w/e, but I only rly got mine for curling my hair aswell as straightnening it, so i doubt you'd wanna curl it :S lol so just get ceramic ones for about £30 yeh, and actually it isn't normal for the straightners to steam, you should have wet hair, and why would you gel your hair if your gonna straighten it?
piers from simple plan straightens with GHDs soooooooo if u have his hairstyle u should get it., kkk

I'll emphisis on GHD's, they are worth the money. I have to straighten my hair every day, cus my hair's forever curling.

When every I go the hair dressers for a trim or hair dye, I always ask for my hair to be straightened, they use GHD, but I just use my Tresemme straighter and it works just the same, I also use a Remmington, but its my mums. I don't know where I'd be without straightening, I'd probably still have short hair (which I don't really like to have).
