PS3 - System update help

Hey, my uncles got a ps3 today, and were hsving trouble getting past the system update 2.7 i think. its stuck on 0% for like 20 minutes now. any help? ;<

I've had problems updating in the past, I reset my PS3 and tried to download it again and it worked.

hes told me now, hes tried before, never worked and reset, so ive tried the settings fresh, still no luck.

Have you tested the internet connection?

hmm, do you think an ipod would work as a flash disk? to try it out and see if it works that way?

i tried downloading from the PS3 but it never worked, i just use a usb now :)

How long should the dl take? it errord on 50% my uncle says, it might just be his laptop, its really old.

What, it's erroring on a Flash?

no, it was dling to go onto a flash and then gives me something like connection was reset and stuff, so it stops dling. but it seems to be working on the ps3 itself now, its taking forever though, how long does the 2.20 take dling right from the PS3?

oh well, im really not sure how to port forward the ps3 ;< maybe the firewall is blocking it?

got to 43% and lost connection to the server, absoloute gutted. >:[

Are you downloading 2.20? Because a lot of people have said it took ages to download, it did for me at first.
