View Full Version : WTB Arcade hacks much?

The arcade is abit of a mess in some ways to be honest. There are people hacking the arcade and unfortunately for them some are making it blatantly obvious. Now I don't use the arcade much, but I am all for fair play, I saw a thread about this user in particular previously but it may have been moved away. I'm posting it here for member reactions and to attract some needed attention.
I've taken screenshots for the sake of those who can't view the arcade.

Level 49 in 22 seconds, serious skill there.

Compared to the scores below, I smell a rat.
Ok fair enough, some of the users scored are plausible but based on these two. I think there's something amiss, correct me if I'm wrong.

Either they're incredibly talented gamers OR very dumb hackers. Should be banned from the arcade to be honest...

Yeah, they should be banned for abusing VIP features.

I sadly concur lmao. Oh how low am I.
Just ban them from the arcade I guess. Then again, there's no proof to say they have cheated. Maybe she's exceptionally good.. yknow.

Don't give them a refund too, there loss for abusing powers :P
It's clear she/he cheated though... I don't believe it is humanly possible to play and get those scores.

If I wasn't so damn tired I would give a long-winded, big worded explaination about goodness knows what, but I won't :P
I've already brought this to someones attention and it's being looked into :eusa_ange
Also with the time thing.. the time that shows is how long your last game was played, not the time it took for that high score.. but even at that the scores I've seen are ridiculous imo.

I thought something was wrong -.-
I think that every high score should be wiped clean and the arcade started over + added games :8

Too easy to hack flash games with Tsearch and stuff.
Just let it stay and see who can be bothered to keep manipulating their scores, that's a game in intself.

Hey,
Yeah I've been aware of this for a day or two (credit to LiquiidAcid and some other people who posted in complaints as well). I'm just waiting on a reply as to what actions I can actually take beyond deleting scores, I think I can perm them, but I might just confiscate their VIP, but I want to make sure before I do anything that its within my purview so if there's a big fuss I can defend my actions ;) Since that's the way we have to run this forum now.
The scores stay there for now just so that we have the proof once we decide what action we'll take.
But thanks for mentioning this :)

No it's like this (from what I've seen at least..);
You get a high score in 5 minutes.
- Score says "username - comment - date - 5:00"
then later on you decide to play but then lose at four minutes without beating your previous score
- Score says "username - comment - date - 4:00" with the same score.
so the very last time you played overrides the previous times. So she could have played for that 22 seconds after getting the top score and then decided that she doesn't wanna play anymore and just loses.
At least I think that's how it's done. I've seen it like that one a couple of other forums as well but yeah.
I hope you get what I mean.

I'm pretty sure this counts as Vip abuse (Which always results in a perm ban) as you need VIP to access the arcade.
Several users have been banned for 'messing' with the arcade scores so I doubt this will be any different.
Edit: for Nvrspk4:

DS told me about her Bat and Mouse score, she said in her first round there was a glitch in the game where all the cheese/clocks were along the top so she kept getting them? I think that's right.
With regards to Simon, it's an easy game to cheat on anyway, you need a piece of paper and a pen. But that time is because of what Liquid said, she played it again afterwards I assume.
Whether to believe her or not is a different matter :P

Why dont they just play fair like everyone else? WHy do people feel compelled to cheat? Its not like its important or anythign its just a forum arcade

Yeah, although it would be easier to type it in to Notepad lol.
I don't know how unrealistic these scores are as I don't really use the arcade but I can tell some of those are ridiculously high.

nvrI beat you to it :P
Sorted now everyone, it's best to PM a super moderator or administrator next time this happens as it cannot be helped - people 'hacking' scores will always find a way to do it but we can keep on top of it all if we are aware of it. ;)

I once encountered a glitch in the Simon game where there was no variation in buttons, it was the same one over and over.
eg,
"red x1"
"red x2"
etc, etc. it eventually stopped after like 15, I think.
