The day habbo asks money to play it, they're dead.
They will lose almost all their visitors

Something that has a little bit of evidence but not confirmed.

It's a great idea. Fact is people would pay for it.
And I'm sure they would offer monthly trial options so users would sign up.

Yeah, but if they introduce the free months trial, it'll go down the pan like xbox live did.
Once one account runs out of the free months trial, you could register a new account and get another month.

It's a bloody ridiculous idea in my opinion, Your paying to pay more money for pixel furni - paying for the furni it's self is ridiculous.

The reason Habbo works so well is that there are no fees unless you want to buy credits, which can be purchased whenever you want without having to buy them on a monthly basis. You can buy them as little or as often as you want - that is why it works.

This will not happen.

i used to know dedicates and he lies about everything.
he told me he lived in the same town as me, and googled loads of stuff to make it believable.
he said he was 12, then the next day he was 15, then 17, then 14.
and the stories about him becoming a model were pretty hilarious.

this rumour is just another one of his stories.

I think you misread the thread title. It says "fee" not "free".

This whole thing is probably just a misunderstood interpretation of a pay monthley credits rumour.

I agree that it's not going to happen, but if it were to, I'd bet that every person with a regular HC badge showing, would pay to play.

-Danube-
13-04-2008, 06:23 PM
I have had HC for like 17 Months now. But i don't go and buy the credits with money i just buy 50 creds (by trading) every 3 months to pay for HC. The reason why the £5 thing wouldn't work is because alot of people don't acctually spend money on habbo it's only a few people (well alot but still not loads) who buy lots of creds and that. But thing is people may still pay £5 a month as people are paying money for pixels.

didnt he get this rumour from the Becs interview on Habbo-works? Where they talk to her about what she is doing now, her life at Habbo and if Habbo would have a monthly fee...

To be very frank this thread is such a waste of forum space it's shocking.

Something of this nature will never transpire. The whole aim of Habbo is to lure possible users in by offering them a 'free' sign up to the Hotel but then pressure to find acceptance between other users starts to set in which then in turn causes the new user to purchase credits and decorate their room with furniture.

It's simple psychology Habbo applies to make their money.

I think its a great idea!
If Habbo had this as an option, aswell as SMS/Phone/pre paid cards etc I think it would work well. If this is true, I think it would work something like this:
If you chose this option you would pay £5 per month via debit/credit card for 60+ credits.
And you can opt in/out any time you wish.
However, if you did not want to do this option you should be able to carry on using the traditional methods of payment.

That is a good idea but if it was like you have to pay £5 to even access habbo it would be rubbish and loads of people will leave. I no i will. Probs a loads of rubbish though.

a yearly fee would be fine.

sort of a W-O-W charge fee.

13-04-2008, 09:59 PM
If you listen to it, like I have [It was actually a really informative && interesting interview] You'd know that Becs was just saying that if it was brought in the advertisment ad's and such wouldn't be needed, like at one point she mentioned about McDonalds rooms or something, like at one point I think Habbo UK had Burger King advertising in Habburgers, it's used to bring in money, and if habbo did intorduce the monthly fee then there'd be no need for such ads or rooms like the Habbo burger king room. (Y)
This isn't a rumour, it's just a misinterpretation of what was said, basicly, like chinese whispers, one person hears it, then tells someone else and it gets changed a little.

^

If they were to introduce it the bottom line is that they would lose some, but not all. A lot of people would still pay and life will go on.
