Hello there,
For some time now I have been comtimplating re-starting an old project of mine. It was a success and it was sold, however no longer in use and I may be able to get the domain and the content back from the owner, who is now the owner of a very successful forum.
Due to the scale of the project, I will be looking for 5 administrators to start with, with the possible scope for a further 20 staff members. Now, some people will say 'the project failed' say a month down the line, if I do not go along with the project. This is just a possible project.
I am not going to give away too much detail at the moment. People who know me and who knew my project from July 2007 will know what I am discussing. I would like to hear from people who are looking to get involved in a project, and who have experience within a Mass Chat Community project, and who would be looking to join one of these departments:
- Public Relations
- Community
- Moderation
- Development
- Legal
If you are interested, please send me a PM or email me directly at:

I look forward to the response,

Hello, what is your plan? Do you have a proper business plan? Contacts? A budget?
Please sit back and re-think everything before you ask for people to join a project.
Also don't take this as a public bashing, I am just suggesting an idea that may help you with your project.
Thanks, Gork.

Gork, like I have said before, I have done this project before but sold it. The new owners never did anything with it, therefore going to buy back certain parts and restart.
I am putting together a full word document plan. Contacts are no problem, I know anyone who is anyone in this market. As for the budget, I will be looking to get onboard some more owners, to split the amount of money by 2 or 3. Last time I put in around £220 I believe.

If it was that successful, why did the owner leave it? A successful site stays active for ages for example; habbox.com, they've been open since 03/04 I believe. They dont die that easily and if it was such a successful site, what was it called I probably would of known or someone else would of.

Darren, every single one of your projects has failed, I don't see any of them go anywhere, for instance, what happened to "Suerte Heights", and "Host Suite". You don't just go becoming a community manager for an mmocc set up a hosting company, make an mmocc, start a forum, and what about suminanal.com or whatever it was. You have tooooo many ideas that everytime this is the order of events:
You have a dumb idea
You make a thread about it
You get flamed because its a dumb idea
You go buy a domain
Hire some people who don't know you - for free
You annoy the hell out of them
They quit
Everyone says they warned the people
Your domain runs out
You have another failed project on your... list.
Just cease all other projects and work on one, I personally think if you try hard, and do not have a million ideas, maybe just one of your ideas will work.

- SuerteHeights was sold...
- HostSuite did not start because a coder left due to a small arguement
- Mainlyanal was NOT a project, it was an idea. This is where people get confused, because they feel that when I make a thread, I am 100% doing that project. It was simply an idea I was looking into, such as this.
WOW, a rare spelling mistake by myself. Thanks for pointing this out. I must have been rushing to get back to Poker.

Title: " Mainlyanal.com - New Project".
Hello there,
You may be saying 'O no, not another project...and this time its porn!'. You have got some of it right, it is another one of my projects, however it is not porn.
During R.E class on Tuesday, the teachers, my classmates and myself were talking about Porn shops in Amsterdam, when I mentioned a porn website. I said 'it is mainly a*nal' and everyone laughed, and started saying 'Mainly A*nal'. I go home, and that night I have been thinking about the domain, thinking of ideas I could use it for, and heres the plan...
Mainlyanal.com would be a discussion and rant website, where users can openly post their rants and dicussion about everyday life. Users would sign up for an account, and earn points for the more posts and threads they make. The more a thread/post is answered to, they get more points for that as well. Further ideas would be to spend points on more functions, images, or even products.
Before I even buy the domain, or go any further with the project, I just wanted to know what you guys think about it. Help would be needed in terms of Coding Development and Marketing.

Money is not an issue, do not worry.
A development has come up, and I may be the new Community Director of a developing MMOCC, therefore this project may not happen now.
I don't see how anyone under the age of at least 18 could even create a successful MMOCC, at all.
To do that, you would need to know how to do it yourself, or have the money to hire someone to do that things you don't know how to do.
I don't see why any "professional" company would hire a 15 year old as a "Community Director", now do you see any big companies with 15 year old community directors, or any directors for that matter unless it is family-owned/user-created.
No, because those companies wish to have experienced, mature staff Darren, unlike you.
Your going to have to think about this, your not going to have a world-renowned site at the age of 15, unless you have some serious skills, which quite frankly, I don't think you have.
I really have seen nothing from you that "blows the lid off of the trash can", its all generic, and not really that great.
The projects you start, always fail, even though you say they are just "ideas", :rolleyes:.
A project is meant to be worked on, and usually finished, not just saying, "you thought I was going to do it 100%?"
That is like working in a factory, having an assigned task of making 300 pieces of furniture a day, and only making 10, then saying "You thought I was going to do it 100%?".
Thats pretty much all I have to say right now, i'll probably think of something else later.
Darren, every single one of your projects has failed, I don't see any of them go anywhere, for instance, what happened to "Suerte Heights", and "Host Suite". Darren...
Okay my views on this are that you act older but still have a very naive mind of about an 11 year old. You can't post a thread about a community asking for staff when you haven't stated what it is. If we all thought back to July 2007 you probably had about 4 or 5 projects at the time so it doesn't help. Your latest project HostSuite collasped quickly after I exposed you for lieing about sponsorship as you were claiming to be sponsored by a Zedtu sponsor.
Charlie...
We are not claiming ownership to subdomains or directories, it's the fact whatever we do - you do. First with Zedtu, we started using /go/pagename for the pages and funnily enough you started too. Secondly you made a piece of software which was situated within an area called backend, which you quickly followed - even naming your software BACKEND. Thirdly you copied Zedtu's entire code and even went to the bother of changing where ever Zedtu was written and the logo so you weren't just testing divs we all know it. Fourthly when we started kLYdo you suddenly decided to open a social network fLYxa. The fact those two letters may not seem like much but there is no reason for you to have LY in that name as it ruins it by making the human brain seperate it into two sounds. So to me it seems you've started with klydo and simply started editing letters around it. Fifthly - the latest one - you've even copied our subdomain setup which you've never used before. Sure we don't own copyright nor the original idea of it but you wouldn't of done it if we hadn't.
It's just getting annoying Charlie, no one here will agree with me or Caleb as basically I'm hated by most people here. However if I posted these facts on places such as TalkFreelance and Sitepoint you'd soon see the real picture. So stop having a go at Darren when you're not blame free either.

the /go/ thing, the whole "testing the divs thing", then the whole "testing your wraps thing", it is really getting old, get some original ideas.
I'll give you that, that was stupid.
I just can't wait for Flyxa to be released, to see how many ideas have been stolen from Klydo.
I wouldn't be surprised if you had a JS color changer that changed the header as you drug it..
PHP can do that just fine.

Go away, learn to code. Thanks for taking my template engine idea of <include></include>, <phrase></phrase>, didn't think I'd remember that now did you?

Actually I didn't take your template engine, and cba with it, it was only for HK, which I couldn't give a **** about anymore.
And when you say take, why don't you rephrase that to, me giving it to you.
I'm no good with regex, and I admit that. Every coder has a few things he isn't very good at.

HostSuite failed due to me falling out with a coder, because I did not like his coding standards.
I have been in talks with an MMOCC, and I am waiting until the end of the weekend to hear back, due to the Joint Owner being on holiday. I think people need to understand when I make a thread, it does not mean I am doing the project. It means its an idea, and I want to get feedback.
I have had some interest on this project, however it was just to let you know what MIGHT be happening. Due to this development, it may or may not happen now. HostSuite was going to go ahead, until the coder I aquired was not up to standards. The project could still happen.
Other projects such as iHubz, YourTropica and SplurStudios were rushed. I still have the domains, however up for sale.

Your template engine sucks, thats about it.. the <php> and <include> functions, are awful.
It is stupid to modify your entire code to return and not echo, and any of the other **** it doesn't allow you to do. I had to modify it tremendously to even get it to do one thing I wanted.
The method I used is far better then yours.
Big whoop, you knew something I didn't, I learn by going along, and learning what needs to be done at the moment.
I probably learn twenty new things each day I code, and new methods on how to do older things.
Any good coder should be learning, and not be stuck with a stick up their *** telling people to go code.
That is no exception for me, I have been an *** to Reconix lately, sorry.
So Dan, why don't you *REMOVED*, and in your words, "go learn to code", because you knew a couple of things I didn't, which makes you "so great."

I agree with alot of the points that Dentafrice and Klydo make in this thread as most seem valid. But this thread has just turned into an arguement, I'm sure we should get back on track with helping/suggesting ideas to Darren surely?
Anyway darren, you are 15 so you said and you are asking someone for 4 years marketting experience when it seems you don't have alot. When you make these sorts of sites if a sponsor asks you how old you are, your going to say 15? I'm pretty sure he will laugh at you.
In conclusion I think you should take a good few weeks to think this over and stick to one "project" as running copious ammounts of projects will get you nowhere but square 1.

I am not going to argue on the amount of effort or the quality of code of the website, for two reasons;
- The photos are the interest, not the code (I like it how you have not commented on the photos btw)
- The coder is one of the best known coders within the MMOCC market, and is the owner of Epic Developments.

There is no use for a pointless competition, because it is all going to become an opinion anyway.
I feel Dan is a good coder, and I also feel I am a good coder, we both have strengths and weaknesses at coding.

Which is stupid, I don't see why you would return everything, then output it.. more work.
How is it more work?
People have very little faith in young people.
Not really, I'm 12 and people like look up at me for PHP (not as much as peeps like dan but still)

No I'm pretty much certain I know everything you do + more. I coded it to return straight from the start.
The SQL structure for your Kristall-Panel is atrocious.
You define someone an "id" in the users table yet you store the username in every other table. That is a really bad example of repetitive data. The aim of a database is to have as little repetitive data as possible.
"Timetable" table, you store text for a username. Text in MySQL can have a maximum field length of 65535 characters. I have never seen a username this long! varchar(30) will be adequate enough.
"online" table, I see no need for at all. You can just store the same fields in the users table. Therefore losing a table and saving repetitive data.
By storing the username in every table it will be causing MySQL to take longer to execute:
1) Searching a numerical value is faster
2) Usernames may contain both alpha and numerical characters, this means MySQL has to work doubly hard to process both ascii types.
3) Usernames are much harder to track across multiple tables and may easily be duplicated.

Looking at Kristall-Panel, it does seem quite redundant. Use ID's in usernames, and why use an online table just have a field last_active and do $check = time() - $sql['last_active'];
if($check < 1800) {
// user is online
}
else {
// user is offline
}
1500 being 30 minutes

I taught you that :| I don't see how you could determine if it is "redundant" or not.
You don't have to repeat anything that a superior being like Baving says, who is far more professional then anyone on this forum. I think he knows a tad bit more then you, me, and anyone else ;)

Wow I can smell your testosterone from my house!
No need to get so defensive, I simply offered him a solution.
P.s. I'll remember anything I'm ever taught by Dentafrice, I make sure I never repeat in public.
GET OVER YOURSELF. It's a tiny piece of code!

I'm not even gonna begin to start how stupid your points are.
Ok I will.
1) Search a numerical field and searching a text field are going to take less than 0.001 of a second, and on a very small DJ panel used by very small sites, there's nothing to worry about, if I wanted efficiency, I would be efficient.
2) Usernames are only tracked from the Request table, PM table and user table if I'm remembering correctly.
3) Their ID was to sort by ID, as was everything, not a reference. I give id references now anyway.
And last but not least
IT'S 2 YEARS OLD
