Being on Habbo the past few weeks, I have noticed the extortionate prices that the throne is now fetching.

As of 16th April 2008, it is now trading for 58 club sofas (HC)
Let us take a look back at where the throne actually came from:
June 8th 2002:
Delivered to the hand as a gift, most room owners would find they would have a nice surprise come midday. The throne entered circulation alongside both the samovar and the holopod, all of these being traded around as just regular furniture.
I originally paid a bathtub and a doormat for my first throne. During the first week, I bought a few thrones, however holopods have always been my favourite, thus I bought more of these.
Throne Value: 6 credits of furniture (Bathtub/Fridge)
September - October 2002:
Before the release of the Halloween/Christmas seasonals, thrones were trading increasingly higher than before. An xmas duck traded for around 2-4 thrones, as well as Easter pop-up eggs. People soon realised that these seasonals were being scripted, the prices of the seasonal furniture consequently fell. Months later the Christmas seasonals entered the catalogue again and the trading market collapsed.
Thrones/holopods/samovars withheld their values, seasonals did not.
Throne Value: Xmas duck = 2-4T, (Seasonals were more expensive)
November 2002:
The HC era began.
People who joined HC on the first day had the benefit of selling HC furniture for ridiculous prices. Each piece of HC furniture on its first day in circulation reached high prices. The club sofa (HC sofa) originally sold for around 1-2 thrones, the mochamaster reached even higher prices selling for 3-4 thrones as well as the imperial teleporters.
Throne Value: 0.5 HC
January - June 2003:
The rare market was well on its way to recovery, hologirls/holiday romances/aloe veras/petals were trading for nice values. New released HC furniture was still fetching high price tags. The throne now begins to increase in value steadily. The holopod and samovar do not increase.
Throne Value: 1-2 HC
June - August 2003:
With a new rare being released nearly every month, there was plenty of choice for rares. Holopods and samovars now seemed to drop and settle in value down to about 0.8 HC and the throne continued to rise. Petal patches and parasols were also rising in value.
Throne Value: 5-6 HC
August 2003 - January 2004:
The throne's value continues to increase sharply, mini-trophies/ typewriters and dino eggs were decreasing. Lots of new super rares came into the public eye and fetched extortionate prices. The orange parasol could have been traded for around 30 thrones. Yet more rares have been released including the amber lamps. Petal patches and parasols continue to increase in value
Throne value: 7-11 HC, Petal patch value: 7-8HC
The throne the continues to increase in value, however I should note that during Q1/Q3 2004, the throne increased dramatically by 10 HC and then during Q4 2004 - Q3 2005 the increase in the value of the throne slows and only increases by 3 HC in total.
Now that I have given the early history of the throne's value, I will now put the values into perspective.
June 2002: Bathtub or Fridge (Any six credit furni)
September - October 2002: Bathtub + Fridge (0.25 Xmas duck)
November 2002: 0.5 HC
January - June 2003: 1-2 HC
June - August 2003: 5-6 HC
August 2003 - January 2004: 7- 11 HC (Petal patch reached 9 HC)
January - May 2004: 11-13 HC
May - October 2004: 17 - 20 HC (Violet Parasol reached 21 HC)
October - December 2004: 17 HC (Throne decreased slightly)
December - March 2005: 18 HC
March - August 2005: 17 - 19
August - December 2005: 19 - 22 HC
December 2005 - April 2006: 22 - 25 HC
April - September 2006: 25 - 29 HC
September - December 2006: 29 - 32 HC
December 2006 - May 2007: 32 - 37 HC (Samovar reached 17 HC)
May - November 2007: 37 - 40 HC
November 2007 - January 2008: 40 - 46 HC
January - April 2008: 46 - 58 HC ( Fell to 40 HC, then increased)
Despite many rumours suggesting the throne will be released into the catalogue, the value of the throne has never really been permanently affected. These past 2 months have seen the biggest increase in the value of the throne in its history. I wonder what the future will hold for the value of the throne, who knows..
