I don't remember seeing a thread recently about this so anyway:

Who would you say your heroes are and the reasons behind that, also, please no 'bashing' peoples hero's etc.. can get annoying.

I would have to say mine would be:

Mohandas Gandhi

His whole outlook on life and his non-violence approach, even in the face of death is just..mind boggling, he did so much to free india from oppression and I reckon if more people just had a slight.. outlook that he has, we'd be in a much better place

Nelson Mandela

The guy was incredible, spent 27 years in prison for believing in the right thing, he was the first black president in south africa, and although racism is nowhere near gone, he's helped so much towards eradicating it.

Jimi Hendrix

Revolutionised music, completely changed how people view music and has inspired countless artists. In my opinion, one of the greatest guitarists/artists ever.

Horatio Nelson
[The more i read of this guy the more i'm astounded]

Been reading up on this guy.. he was a tactical genius and helped so much in defending Britain from the French and the Spanish, to be honest.. the guy was a complete badass, after damaging his arm so badly, he went to the ship's surgeon to have it amputated.. and was back in the battle a half hour after amputation.

To run over to someone who needs help while underfire and concentrating on their life soley over yours makes them a heroes in my books.

I agree, to be honest I think all of the soldiers in world wars. To stand underneath that trench, bullets flying over your head, to muster the courage to stand tall and to run over that no man's land; knowing full well you're most likely to die...

that takes.. godly courage
