Hiya
I am looking for a place to get one of them FM radio transmitter thingies for my ipod touch? lol
Basically I wanna play my ipod via my radio speakers in the car when driving...
I'm not wanting to pay too much and don't want it to run of the charger power thing if possible (the wee smoking thing :P)
Thanks for help

I'm not 100% on what you're wanting but if you want to just play your regular iPod through your car speakers, if you have a tape player you can get one of these:

You can get them from Asda for like five pound. :)

Monster iCarplay, I have it for my car and the sound quality is awesome. you can't even tell it apart from a CD!

29.99 is an AWESOME price for it on ebay, I payed $100 for the same one in the store.
OH, and for iPod touch, you have to check compatibility because some transmitters don't support it, icarplay does FOR SURE (because I have a touch too!)

This will depend on the stero in the car but...
If your car stereo has an audio input socket on the front...or somewhere on it for that matter. Just go out and buy an output to input cable with 3.5mm jacks on it, or whatever size suits the sockets on the stereo and your ipod, you could always buy adaptors if need be, just plug one end into your ipod and the other into the car stereo. It'll only cost a couple of quid and will prove to be much cheaper than all these fancy gadgets that everyone else is recommending

the only thing i can think of is the iTrip, like someone else reccomended.
it plugs into your ipod, then transmits the music on a radio frequency. then you tune your car radio into that frequency and it plays via the car speakers
at least i think that that is how it works

Ah. Thats exactly what I do with my ipod. I found one with a sig power cable for about £11 in WHS. Can be very handy but occasionally the signal can be weak dependant on where your arial is and even the weather as i've found :S I tested the distance on mine while camping and it was a good 90m or so.

Tried a few products and from that experience, try to keep away from any knock-offs. There is a distinct difference in sound quality. The Griffin iTrip is absolutely fantastic IMO, and sound quality was better than I would have expected. It just clips onto the bottom of your iPod and sits there, using your iPod's battery (for short journeys, and you can plug it into the cigarette lighter for longer journeys to keep your iPod topped up too).
You should be able to find Griffin iTrips on eBay for about £5 (the older ones) to £25 (the newer ones).

The iTrip defo sounds what I need.
So it will just use the ipods battery if I choose? Lol my mums the sorta person who won't let me plug anything into the cigarette charger cause it wastes the battery or something lmao (we share a car ).
Thanks a lot :)

The iTrip is an FM-transmitter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FM-transmitter) made by Griffin Technology (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griffin_Technology) as a third party accessory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPod#Accessories) for Apple Computer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Computer)'s popular iPod (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPod) MP3 player (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3_player).
The iTrip plugs into the headphone socket of the iPod and converts the audio output into an FM radio signal, which can then be picked up by appliances such as car radios. It has a range (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Range) of about fifteen feet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foot_%28unit_of_length%29), and can broadcast on any FM frequency (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frequency) from 76.0 to 108.0 MHz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MHz) (though the default US configuration is limited to 87.9 to 107.9 MHz). Instead of using batteries, the iTrip draws its power from the iPod through the remote connector port and the dock connector (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dock_connector) for an iTrip with a dock connector.
Just to quote Wikipedia there :)

you can't use an itrip that uses the screen of the iPod for setting, because the touch doesn't support that!
