Hi peepz of Habbox.

I have had a problems lately and were wondering if you could lend knowledge/a helping hand. My internet wasn't working for around three weeks now - I even sent it to a top computer shop but they said my computer worked fine with their internets. I was wondering if it could be the ethernet cable? Maybe it could be my modem itself (it's old) Please elp? I have had the same occuring problem for nearly about a month now and i have had to be stuck, spending my time out with friends or on Xbox Live.

Vitals:

Internet wouldn't work for weeks and today i was uet to see, that again their was no connectivity to me and the internet, five minutes later connectivity!

I have a Motorola Surfboard modem.

I have a twenty foot ethernet.

The ethernet is spread between two rooms or about twelve feet.

I continiously switch my cable into the Xbox (Maybe it may cause?)

The modem is atleast four years old.

It worked perfectly in a computer hardware shop. (Free though. :D)
Long story shorter: Internet wouldn't work on pc, did with xbox and it did with the ethernet cable in the computer shop. What will i do? Wait for connection? (I usually got connection right away before)

Smart Replys - +REP. (To all smart replys.)

Thanks guys, Joey.

Your Modem Isnt really old. Its actually good. I have had myne for 3 year now. I am with Virgin and we still get good connections to my computer.
I Have a Belkin Wireless G adapter (54mbps) That is really good for me as i used to struggle getting a connection higher than 20mbps a year ago.
I also have a Xbox360. But that is Wireless too. It takes a minute to get into a game and get playing online. I do reccomend not switching you Ethernet cable back and forth as it may get damaged as such.

Your Modem to your Ethernet cable then to your Computer/Xbox Will Slow it down as your ethernet cable passes through a room or two. I dont see anything wrong with that. But it just maybe the case.
Contact Your ISP With the problem or get online help by thier website.

Thanks, PureGamer.

What you wanna do is replace each part of you network one by one and try to figure out what the problem is. Like firstly replace the Ethernet cable (you can get ones cheap from Poundland); if its still not working replace the modem. To try and get a free one what you could do is call your ISP and say the problems your having and see what they say, and say you've replaced everything you possibly can its just the modem I havnt - please send me a new one.

Just wondering, who is your ISP?
