Hey there,

I'm assuming that if you've clicked this thread, you take (or took, or are going to take) GCSE Media Studies.

So, if you're taking your GCSE in Media this year, like me, you're studying sitcoms. I guess i'm just wondering what everyone thinks is going to come up!

Also, the exam can be given out on Monday - but my teacher won't give us it until Tuesday :eusa_wall.

I suspect, it'll vary from Genre to genre.

Hey Y'all, Yes I am doing "Sitcoms" too, the genre changes anually depending on the AQA board. Basically I think it is going to be...

Compare 2 Sitcoms
Make your own Sitcom and do a storyboard for it
History of Sitcoms
70s Sitcoms and Racismwhat you guys thinking?

Well, in our school, the top set of the English GCSE get to do a bonus 8 month course of Media Studies. We've been studying the Music Industry and Comics.

We're doing sitcoms.
We studied the office, my family, friends and phoenix nights cos you have to do a conventional piece against a none conventional piece so we did two of both in case they came up.
I think friends stands a good chance of coming up.

I think there may be something about how women are represented (now & before) in the house hold etc and perhaps give some examples...

I think perhaps make your own sitcom idea up, story board it a little and perhaps an advertising poster?

Cultral Diversity maybe...

And something to do with target audiences???

I'm not sure.

I'm also doing GCSE MS this year - I get the prerelease tommorow morning - does anyone want me to scan it / upload it, if your dying to have it 3 or 4 days early?

Sitcom is a kinda crappy topic, but it's been fun, I suppose.

So, now we've all got the exam, what do you think?!

And upon what lines are you going to go regarding the questions?

I'm actually sitting in media studies now "preparing my answers" - yeah, right.

I think it's quite straight forward however a lot of effort will need to be put in, in the exam and prior to it. I got reccomended to do 4 pages in the first three questions.

Should get a B.
