Anime is not the name of a programe, its a type. Theres already a movies forum. There should be a sub-forum for just anime/manga because those are japanese and a load more different from "animated" series. The Beautiful Yet Ugly World (I think that's it's name) Futigo no Boshi Futago Hime, Naruto, LoveHina, Azumanga Daioh, Sailor Moon, Ghost in the Shell, Pokemon, Air Gear, BoBoBoBo BoBoBo, Millions of Other Animé... Most of those being dubbed into english.

I haven't seen Eastenders Translated into Japanese yet.

First, I'd like to thank Garion, Expensive, Judge Judy, BlackSpoons and Brandon for saying why they think there should be an anime/manga forum even though they're not really interested in the genre. :) Thank you.

Second, I don't think anyones pointed this out before but search anime, manga, naruto or bleach in the Graphics section and look at all of the graphics and pictures people have either drawn or made. Theres LOADS. This shows that anime and manga obviously has a high interest on this forum, but since theres no where to actually discuss it, many users don't get involved. If a forum were to be created, I'm sure there would be a burst in the amount of fans and popularity of anime and manga.

The idea of the council was to get member feedback and so that changes can be made which members want, the anime/manga forum has been highlighted in the latest council report but we still haven't had feedback from the report.

Stop comparing shows which are not aimed at a male teenage audience, which is ironically the main demograph which hits this forum.

To compare how this situation happens, Anime covers magazines, Anime is an internet phenomenon, Anime is on Television, it is applicable to NUMEROUS different modes of the media, this is the reason why there is a demand for an Anime forum.
I can completely understand, it can come under the "Other Entertainment" forum, and I think for users who want this forum to be created, they should make a point of deliberately posting threads discussing these topics.
It's obvious management want to see proof, what other proof can you, as users give, than to give them what they want, and in return, get what you want :).

I don't see why a Big Brother froum is needed when that fits more than perfectly in the television section as it's actually on TV. ;) Anime and Manga are two totally different things. How is this thread silly? anime and manga obviously have an audience on this forum which you can tell by all the graphics and threads made around the subject, not enough user interest? why is the big brother forum still here? it only gets used once a year where people post pointless threads like "xxx has gone into the bath room" it's full of crap mindless threads, why isn't that subforum removed and an 'animated series' forum added?

Should I mention that the council is forum user feedback and requested features, where this has been suggested and we haven't received feedback from our report which was submitted days ago, meaning it's not down to one person who decides what happens and when - for the forum to keep gaining (and maintaining) popularity it needs to listen to it's members (and its own council) so that they can suit peoples needs instead of deciding for it's members what to do.

You have to show there is a STRONG interest in the forum and you may get it.

I'm certain my post below is true and there obviously is a strong interest in anime and manga otherwise there wouldn't be all these complaints and threads with tons of users trying to get it a seperate forum.


Second, I don't think anyones pointed this out before but search anime, manga, naruto or bleach in the Graphics section and look at all of the graphics and pictures people have either drawn or made. Theres LOADS. This shows that anime and manga obviously has a high interest on this forum, but since theres no where to actually discuss it, many users don't get involved. If a forum were to be created, I'm sure there would be a burst in the amount of fans and popularity of anime and manga.


Stop comparing shows which are not aimed at a male teenage audience, which is ironically the main demograph which hits this forum.

To compare how this situation happens, Anime covers magazines, Anime is an internet phenomenon, Anime is on Television, it is applicable to NUMEROUS different modes of the media, this is the reason why there is a demand for an Anime forum.

comics and graphic novels could easily go into non-habbo related graphics, and japanese animation can go in the "animations" forum.

and in response to both posts, if "they have noted it for quite a while now, and nothing has been done" - can't you take a hint? going on at them wont get you anywhere and you'll end up annoying them and further hinder your progress.

Er... what? Anime and Manga do not belong in the graphics section at all. This isnt animation as in gifs, it's 25 minute episodes like The Simpsons. This isnt comics like Spider-man, it's books with over 200 pages of dialogue and pictures.

You might also want to check what a novel is.
A novel is today a long written, fictional, prose narrative.

So if Manga had to be posted in a specific section, the closest one to it would probably be Books and the closest one to anime would probably be Television. But wouldn't it be nice to discuss them in the same forum as they are both related. ;)

It's obvious there is high demand for an anime forum so why do people such as Gork and Cocaine come along saying there shouldn't be one when it's actually doing them a favour because the anime/manga threads won't be all over the place where they can see them, there'd be in a forum which they could simply hide.

Even though I don't mind about the forum being created as said, you do know this thread will get closed because of this argument and then the chances of the forum actually being created are getting slimmer.

There are two ways I think it could be created (one might not work though):
- Remove one subforum that's inactive (e.g. Counter Strike) and create Anime

- Purchase a subforum.
