I'm pretty sure there was a thread recently but..

I have a domain, how would I go about hosting it from my own computer?

I have real hosting at the moment I just thought it may be easier on me.

There are loads of free servers, i use Wamp. http://www.en.wampserver.com/download.php

It comes with php and mysql built in, so it doesnt take a long time to setup :)

if you do host yourself,
REMEMBER TO ADD A PASS TO PHPMYADMIN.

One froob didnt and yeah u can imagine what happened from there.

I have xampp, but I only use it to develop stuff offline..

Yeah, are you using a router to connnect to the internet or a wire?

Because your using a router, you need for forward port 80 to your computer. Go to http://192.168.1.1 (or what ever your router address is) login and find the port forwarding page and forward port 80 to your local ip http://192.168.x.

You don't need to look into it, you just look if you have a router,

(E.G; if it says NETGEAR and/or has an antenna.)

im in the same situation as this and i would love to point one of my own domains to my ip address but im not sure how to go about nameservers.

dyndns offer a service for this but its 20$

is there any way to do this for free?
