Friend help.

My best mate in the whole world, who i thought had been nothing but straight with me, has been lying to me. I was talking to a mutal friend last night and was informed of somthing that i found completly wrong. I dont know wether to believe this mutal friend because for all i know it could be hear'say but what if it isnt? I dont want to confront my friend and ruin what we have, because me and her are so close. I feel hurt that she couldnt confide in me this when she has with thinks much worse.

What shall i do? Try and forget it or ask her about it and risk everything?

I'd ask about it..
Just be like "Listen.. I'm not saying that I entirely believe this but I heard "..." and I'm just hoping that it's not true as I thought you could be straight up with me" or something and just be .. nice? about it.
If anything comes up just say I'll talk to you later or something. I'm sure that this one thing isn't worth losing a friendship over when it could just be the hear-say that you think.

If you're best friends then you should be able to talk to her about this and not worry that you will loss the friendship you have. Just ask her if what you have heard is true and don't be so quick to judge....Maybe she knows you so well that she knows how you will react as you have said you think it is wrong... so maybe she was too afraid to come to you encase she lost you!?

I think you should just hint about it to your friend, but don't ask her straight. Then you'll find out whether it's true, or whether she plans on telling you.

You should say to her, do you have anything to tell me?
(give her a chance to tell you)
If she says no, say you heard something from the mutual friend
and if its true, ask her why she didn't tell you?
If its not true, get the mutual friend there and see which one lies :)

Well without really knowing what its about then its hard to give advice.
Is it actually anything to do with you? Sometimes its annoying when your friends dont tell you something but sometimes they want to keep it quiet/ protect you from the truth or something of the sort.
If its a nasty rumour sort of thing then you should just tell her youve heard it as a rumour and see how she reacts. You should be able to tell if its true by her reaction.
If it is just a nasty untrue rumour then its best that your friend hears it from you rather then some randomer whose been listening to chiniese whispers.

I am unable to go into specifics because users on this forum know the person in question but it doesnt matter anymore, its all gravy baby.
