ok on there it basically said:

To connect your console to a wireless network:

1. Turn on your console and any wireless networking devices (such as a router or an access point).
2. Attach the wireless networking adapter to the back of your console as described above.
3. Go to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard to enter your network settings.
4. If all settings are correct, exit the System area. Your console should now be connected to your wireless network.

all mine are 00.00.00.00 etc. etc.

let me guess, that isn't right? :/

cba editing

i dont think its detecting my wireless adapter, in network connections, the bottom section on basic settings is like grey so u cant click it, thats the bit with the wireless info in .. and when i run the tests to see why it isn't working, it says network adapter disconnected, but i dont wanna use network adapter, i wanna use wireless.

Key in your code manually. Default gateway/IP adress and it should pick it up i think.

Go to your computer > run > "cmd" then type "ipconfig /all" and then enter all the gateway, ip and every detail it gives you then it should work.

Did you plug the USB in? Not just clip it to the back? I had to put my IP in by myself then it picked everything else up.

Have you entered all your IP adress and everything manually?

Start > Run > CMD then once you're on CMD type ipconfig /all

Then it will give you all details IP Address, Gateway and then once you've put all that info in it should work. If all the details are right but it's failing then your WEP key is wrong.

no because in the thread i did say that the wireless section in network settings isn't even highlighted, so i can't edit any of it.

Should be able to.. click it then put automatic then add all the details.

Then connect to your router and everything, add WEP key then test connection and it should all work fine.

don't bother repeating yourself, i told you the first time - i can't enter my wep key because it isn't highlighted and won't let me edit it.
yes, i know it should do that, but it doesn't.

&at above, i think i might just have to. reaaaaaaaaally can't be bothered though.

It would be highlighted.. it's impossible for it to not be selected, if it's grey and you can't click it means you don't have anything plugged in, you're either plugging it into the front of the xbox which is wrong or the thing is faulty again..

but it is plugged in, and it is doing SOMETHING.
as i said, my mates xbox was working perfectly with his adatper, he plugged mine in, no luck. he plugged his back in, and now it his is doing the exact same as mine, and not detecting anything?
