Anyone else think it would be nice if we could have a beautiful sub-forum to rant in, about stuff in real life. I always like posting in ranting sub-forums.

I doubt you'll get one, this isn't a teen forum apparently... If it was they'll let people be teens "/

What was that for? The suggestion has nothing to do with this being a teen forum.

I actually really like that idea, if only because I'm naturally a Victor Meldrew and moan about everything :P Obviously it'd have to be closely monitored because you could get some heated discussion, but with the right moderation I think it'd work quite well. I hope it gets the support from members it needs. Or maybe I'm on my own :P

Well considering the current status of the forum, teens cannot be teens and other forums I have noticed that are aimed at teenagers offer such facilities. Although the idea is very good, any kind of 'ranting' on HxF is seen as a bad thing, you get these sorts of things back through PM and in the feedback forum at least once a week. This idea is good, but Habbox needs to get a moderator who is trigger happy to moderate it...

Plus Elkaa and a few others are anti-subforums at the moment, need I bring up the Anime Forum vs. Big Brother forum idea?

I really don't know what you're getting at. The section specifically marked "Teens (and older members)" allows members to discuss topics relating to teens, such as parents breaking up, relationships etc. I'm not sure what "facilities" you're talking about, the forums are there and free to use.

Ranting on habbox is perfectly fine, as long as you don't insult anyone or avoid the filter. You'll find that the ranting in the feedback forum is ranting about habbox, not real life.

The comment about moderators was uncalled for, I have the pleasure of looking over a lot of the infractions issued and I've had to reverse a full one in the past week. There are no "trigger happy mods," if you feel there are PM some evidence to Elkaa/Nick and they'll look over it.

Well, if you think about it, they end up in the Discuss Anything subforum, so why not? Ranting can really help, I don't see why you see it as such a bad thing.

I see it as another moaning forum which will get closed as people will abuse and get banned then moan they got banned for ranting when they are allowed.

Such a fun circle.

Hmm, I see. But if you check it out on Habboforum, it is actually a very good part of the forum.

That forum has always been pointless. The whole forum is aimed at teenagers, why have a forum which is aimed for teenagers in a forum made for teenagers? As you can see, it makes no sense. Relationships go in the Relationships Forum, parent issues go in a forum which it belongs in e.g. a Family Forum, or a sub-forum in Health Questions and Advice.

Ranting on Habbox has never properly been 'fine,' moderators end up editing posts saying "Respect other peoples views" or "Don't pointlessly post" and in some cases closing them. Only a select few remain around.

Moderators don't just infract members... If you pay much attention to some forums, they also edit posts which don't mean an infraction or warning is in order. I have seen many pointless edits on some posts for pointless posting... So? It's going to happen, it creates different topics within a thread. If it gets out of hand, communicate with the member and ask for them to create another thread. These sorts of forums thrive on good communication with staff and members, something Habbox lost quite a while ago, by continuously ignoring requests, giving silly reasons for not doing anything, adding pointless features no one uses (e.g. chat) rather than features people want e.g. Anime Forum which would have more point to than a Big Brother forum which is a fad, which goes against Elkaa's reasoning "/

Continuously banning members is a terrible idea. Ban them if they are bad, but if they make a new account, talk to them and ask them why they are doing what they are doing. If they behave for a long time, give them their old account back. You'll get a helluva lot of respect and people will like you.

Well, Its not like you need to be like the Angry Video Game Nerd to rant about something.
