Hello,

I'm just wondering if there is a way to make a screen or a window the input of a video device. For example, when I go to my computer's video settings I can select a webcam as default device etc. but along with that I want to be able to select a window on my computer or just the entire screen. Is this possible? If I need software, that's fine.... but how would this be possible? I've worked out how to do it with audio (stereo mix etc.).

Any help would be appreciated. Best answer gets +rep.

Do you mean like you can play a video for example in a cinema playing the video in one window and doing other stuff like web browsing in another? That would be very handy but i'm sorry I don't know how to do that.

No, what I'm aiming to do is to be able, well, I could say it like this, instead of using my webcam on msn messenger, I want to make it appear as my screen. Some sort of screen recording software might be able to do something like this? Like you can add stereomix as an audio "thing" (replacing a microphone), is there a way to put the screen as a video "thing" (replacing a webcam).

Camtasia is a screen recorder, are you sure it does this as well?

It's got something called liveoutput which does what you want, but only in a tiny frame about the size of the MSN window.

I'll upload my one with the keygen/ crack etc.

It's OK I've already got the camtasia setup saved somewhere on my computer.

Edit: Installed it and ticked the option for liveoutput. A tiny size is fine for me. Thanks very much Jamsey +rep. Thread closed.
