View Full Version : Work Experience =/
Well as some of you may know, next week is the beginning for work experience - in my area anyway. But yeah I get a call today, to tell me the person who is co-ordinating it is ill in hospital, so now I have no placement, and pretty much everything is taken. I know it's not her fault, but it's pissed me off a treat.
Because I live quite remotely too, there are hardly any of the stuff I wana do in the area, and if there are it's ahrd for my mum to get me there, as she has to work too.
Any suggestions? I was thinking of saying I'm going with my dad and stay at home for 2 weeks.

I could only get a placement for one week so I took the second week off. I think getting a placement with your parents and then skiving is a good idea, but sometimes teachers come to check up on you (well they did at my school). If not just find a small shop or something?

Work experience organised by schools is ridiculous. The best work experience is self-motivated work... not that which is forced upon you. Getting a part-time job is far more valuable, and I can't believe schools are still pushing a work experience programme.

Just don't go.
I did my WE last year.
Tennis Coaching, was easyyyyyyy. :P
The firm that cancelled on me has offered me a part-time job, outside of the work experience thing.
But I still need a placement. I can get away with them visiting my dad's work, cos he travels around a lot to different offices.
Other than that, I really cba with shops.
I'm going this year, can't wait, June, to somewhere which will really benefit me, the airport xD
We go for a week :)
Will be fun, spending my mums money on stuff to wear. woop!
Have fun :)
Cool.
I am currently emailing web design businesses, and architect firms now lol.
Got a week to find a frigging placement.
