vB is the forum master!

Getting it illegally will result in your host shutting it down and most likely your service provider being contacted and the police being informed.

It's classed as theft.

Not realy, considering, you dont have to pay monthly/ anualy like VB, you can by a life time licenes, for $180 wich lasts the whole of you life span.

Athogh ipb easly puts VB to shame when put side by side

Actually vBulletin stinks. It costs alot for nothing. Hardly any extra's.

IBP is extremely good, especially IBP 2.0 and above, it costs £200 to keep it forever and you get updates constantly. It has many more add ons than the regular IBP and vBulletin and is worth the money. It is easy to modify. It makes vB look crud.

EDIT:

Got it wrong, it is $180 for it permanently, thats around £100 in England.

To see what one you prefer you can have an online demo for free.

Invision Power Board Demo (http://www.invisionboard.com/?demo)

vBulletin Demo (http://www.vbulletin.com/admindemo.php)

On both these demos you can have a go on the admin control and see which control panel you think is suited for your needs.

Out of the two i think that the invision service is better.

Hope it helps!

yes but on the vbulletin demo u are only using version 3.0.7 and there is now 3.5.0 beta 1 out which has loads more features, and easier for mods to edit / close and open posts
