Mentos In Lemonade

Hehe I got my mate BIG time today, he had a bottle of lemonade in college today and I gave him one of my mentos and told him to put it in his drink because it will make it taste soooo nice. So we are all sat there in the classroom and we all just heard some massive fizz explosion and we turned round and he was sat there covered in lemonade haha it was so funny. I also know that if you make a small hole in the lid of a lemonade bottle, drop a mento in and put the lid on and then it will act as a powerfull lemonade pistol.

Btw mentos are mints that contain something that is highly reactive with the chemicals in lemonade and all other fizzy drinks but lemonade is said to be the most effective.

They're just unbelievably sugary on the outside, which reactions with the fizzyness of coke, lemonade, anything fizzy which causes bubbles to release :P

I'm sure there will be a few videos on youtube that involve fizzy drinks and mentos;) Also try to trick your mates, just buy some mentos and the next time you see your mate (or someone who you don't like:P) just tell them how good their drink will taste with a mento in :D.

I did that not too long ago, except with coke, it was horrible pmsl, I was having a brain fart and not thinking. (I was in class)
There was just this huge thrust pushing against my mouth, so I had to just try my best to get rid of it and not draw attention to myself, so I swallowed it (easier said than done..), and then I broke out in a coughing fit.

This was actually only a few weeks ago, fun times. :rolleyes:

I just used original mentos so i'm not sure if all flavours work, I actualy thought that lemonade worked best but maybe diet coke is better? I'm not sure.

It doesn't work with the fruit ones in the UK, the recipe is different in America and the fruity ones work, much like how Dr. Pepper has a completely different taste in the States.

Diet Coke and original Mentos is the best recipe for carbon disaster.

there have been. for about two years now. i hate to be one of those "this is old" people, but the mentos + coke thing has been around for ages, it's far from new.

and it's not a chemical reaction. the sugar on the outside is just extremely rigid, so bubbles form really fast as it dissolves.
