Eek! Help [GH3]

Yesterday, i was doing a face off with my brother on GH3 for 360.
We were playing "The Pretender" and my brother was doing it on medium, i was doing expert. Thennnnnn, my brother was like, jesus wth! i looked over and there were blue+orange notes!
Orange on medium? Whaaa...?

Sometimes you do get orange notes, sometimes you don't it could be a bug or something, I don't know.
