Nearly everyone I know has an iPod which is obviously related to iTunes where you are suppose to buy your song £2 a song (or whatever). You could easily use a downloading program and get them all for free so do you download them for free or pay for them?

i don't pay for downloads, it's pointless really because you can buy the physical album for the same price/cheaper.

i used to download 100% of my music
i spent £24 on hadouken!'s album, seems a lot, but us aerials members (the club that the £24 payed entry to) got the album two weeks before the release date via download, we get the cd release and also a remixed version. also we get discounts, free tickets, free tshirts and free b-sies and rarities and the like.

since i paid that ive been buying music more. ive decided from hence forth that downloading from big bands is alright, because they are going to make tons from album sales+over priced gig tickets and merchandise, whereas small bands aren't going to make as much because they dont has as many fans. so ill now ill only buy from unsigned bands/bands ive followed since their beginning and so on

i download, and if i like it i buy it. usually. on occasion i'll buy an album not ever having heard it.

i never understood itunes. buying an album on there is just as much as buying the physical album. i can understand buying a single song, but why there are so many people that buy full albums on there is beyond me.

I only use iTunes really to update my iPod, only things I download from iTunes are podcasts.

I buy my albums from shops incase of something going wrong with the files and/or my computer.

The only songs I buy off iTunes are songs which:

Are only on vinyl
Can't be downloaded anywhere else
Aren't on promo CDsLong live 7digital.

I usually download, but im into quite a few remixes and very new music, not the chart crap... and sometimes limewire doesn't have it... or utorrent doesn't have enough seeds to download or says it takes up to a week to download.. so i just buy it off itunes.. and i have never regretted it :)

I only use iTunes because I have to so my iPhone works but what is the point in downloading them of iTunes for money when you can download them somewhere else for free?

You do not have to download from iTunes, that is an optional feature. Some people prefer paying for their music, others dont. The choice is yours whether you want to pay or not.

Well limewire crashed my last computer which made me lose my college work soo.... i've just kept to downloading songs from itunes. I buy a few a week, and get friends to send me songs if I'm desperate for a song that hasn't been released.

I download all my stuff off MySpace as there are normally full length high quality versions as the artist themselves have uploaded the song. That normally means it's all their new music too. Which is much better than things such as Limewire, Bearshare and whatever else there is now.

All you need is Firebug and a file download manager.

I download off LimeWire (and sometimes iTunes in rare occasions) and then whack 'em on my iPhone.

because buying them of iTunes helps the artists obviously. having said that tho, i think apple got sued because they weren't paying the artists enough/they were taking most of the money for themselves. not 100% sure tho

I thought that too, but I've made one exception, The Chemical Brothers - We are the Night (L)

i download for free, but only 3-4 songs max from one certain album, then if i like it enough i'll go and buy the album.

i never download full albums unless they're unreleased to have a listen before it comes out, then buy it if i like it.
