the max volume is 30, and if i play any music over 20 (not very loud)
the whole system cuts out, and if i want it to work again, i have to unplug it then plug it back in the mains, then it comes back to life, help ?
Has it always done this or only just started? It sounds like it's cutting out as a safety feature because you're turning it up to much and so you have to reset it. What hi-fi is it?

mabe it can't cope with it? has a loose wire which is moved by the vibration of the loud music?

It might be because of the vibrations in the air from music which turns it off so it wont harm you?

sounds like what nick said. Most amps now have a cut off were they just litrally mute so that you dont blow your speakers. Its called live protection may seem anoying but it can save your speakers

have you wired any additional speakers to your unit? you could overload the power and as a result the safety feature kicks in. on my old hifi, I had some B&O speakers wired to it additionally, when over a certain volume it cut out.
