Key Skills - College

As I did **** in my exams at school and missed half of them, I'm required to do Key Skills at college (apperntly).

As I had a major bust up with my Key Skills teacher today and walked out of the lesson I just wanted to know wetha or not I have a leg to stand on. Are you not allowed to go to college if you don't do KeySkills? I don't get it?

it's stupid we have to do the exam, but it is worth it if you want to go to uni, it's worth 30 ucas points.

Key Skills is a governmental mandatory to set a standard for the UK IT people of today. I did level 2 Key Skills despite being on a Lvl 3 BTEC IT course but I think it's cuz they didn't want to waste our time. Took us ages since we couldn't be arsed. Next year they're introducing 'Functional Skills' which will replace Key Skills. Basically, it means that Level 2 Key Skills now will be Level 1 Func Skills. It gets ALOT harder, basically top level is a level 4 Key Skills.

Just do it, it's easy.

at my college its compulsary to do key skills in ICT OR Communication at level 2 - if you got below c or gcse in english/ict, or level 3 if you got c or above at gcse in english/ict
but if your doing english or ict at AS/A level you don't need to do that subject obv.

i've done key skills level 3 in communication
(had to do presentation for 8 mins infront of group / group discussion / exam and essay on uni app next year)
its only worth 30 ucas points and pointless, but i think get college get funded for it, soo.. they do it

its pointless but you hardly have to do much work or revision for it so i don't bother moaning and just get on with it
