1 One Piece - Simply awesome. Characters, Animation, Story, Are all A+. Moments that aim to make you said actually do make you sad. Would eb why its classed as the next Dragonball. ^_^

Death Note's finale was brilliant because of the suspense and Matsuda, but Avatar's finale can match Death Note easily. Avatar's finale was everything I could have asked for and more, Death Note's finale almost killed me but I just hate Near too much.

Cowboy Bebop is one of the greatest animes ever made. :P Made by the same guy who bought us Samurai Champloo. :) It aired during the 90s, it's popular among long time anime fans.

You're putting the live action above the anime? There is no god. The anime ending didn't suck, it was brilliant. ;) The best thing about the anime ending is that fact that Mikami killed himself. I couldn't believe it when he was like 'you're not god, you're scum' to Light in the manga. Thats' just not the kinda guy he is, it makes much more sense for him to kill himself. Although if he did kill himself in the manga, then they wouldn't have been able to add the part after it with Matsuda and Ide. Which is actually one of my favourite parts in the manga.

I hated Near cause I just wasn't ready for a new L. and it was like no one else was worthy of opposing Light AND they had to use such a shaudy tactic to catch him out. >:L

Indeed. Near wasn't a worthy opponent for Light. Near even said himself that he isn't better than L, but him and Mello together are better than L WHAT sthu Near no one is better than L except maybe Light. :P

We had stuck with L the whole way through and he was obviously one of the best characters ever, so when someone we had never seen before tried to replace him it's hard not to understand why we wouldn't like Near. That's like having Light die and Mikami replace him. Plus Near had no tactics, he sat back and relaxed while his minions went here there and everywhere, he actually did nothing, he got all of his information by spying on Mello and other people. Near isn't worthy of succeeding L. I liked it when Light was like "Near, you aren't worthy of being L's successor. You are nothing compared to him." :D If you've read the manga then Matsuda explains at the end that Near may have even written Mikami's name in the Death Note since he had the real one. Damn him. Light would have beaten Near with no trouble if it wasn't for Mikami.

Manga was the prgional tho written by the author so thats how it should have happened. maybe i did jump the gun a bit there. the anime ebding was decent i did like the whole flashbacks before his death. but the manga ending would have been alot better. one of the reason i like the live action over the anime. because it tryed to have the same ending. anyway if i didnt like the anime i wouldnt be buying the dvds xD

The flashbacks were also one of the best things about it. If you pay close attention you see Light run past his old self when he's running just after he gets shot, which I think is a very interesting thing to put in, but I don't think Light's the kinda guy to regret using the Death Note.

An American studio announced that they're going to make a Death Note movie, but I am not expecting much from them at all. Quite simply, a 12 volume manga/37 episode anime cannot fit into one feature length film. Atleast Japan did it in two parts, but it needs to be a trilogy at the least to be honest.

Light is my favourite character I think. I can never decide between Light and L but I think if I actually thought hard about it, I'd choose Light. I believe he was the smarter person, and there are too many L fans these days. First favourite - Light, second favourite - L, third favourite - Matsuda. Matsuda was great, seeing him change when he finds out that Light was Kira was amazing. Every time I see the part in the anime where he says "I MUST KILL... I MUST KILL... I MUST KILL HIM!" I cannot to anything but watch in awe. I also love the part at the end of the manga where Ide says to Matsuda "you were quite fond of Light weren't you" and Matsuda says he's right. The manga ending leaves me with a more happy feeling, because Matsuda and Ide actually liked Light and actually liked the world better with Kira.

The best bit of the Death note finale for me was when Light had already been figured out and he was just stalling them, then he turned round and went for his watch and they were all like "HE HAS A PIECE OF THE NOTE?!". I was just thinking YES, YES kill them all. :P

Yeah, that bit is amazing. It's also amazing when it's all silent then suddenly Light starts writing Near's name in his own blood. In the manga when Light gets shot you see the piece of note fly out of his hand and it says 'Nate Rive' I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO""!£1£1`2`"!!!!""OOOOO!11!¬1!!!!!!! One letter away. :'(

Hayao Miyazaki is a very talented director and I can clearly see why his films are so popular and influential, but they've never really grabbed me as much as the likes of Ghost in the Shell, Tekkonkinkreet, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Sword of the Stranger. I'm a big fan of fantasy, but I think I prefer more mature movies with a twist.

thats fine but the DUB that you would probably be refering to is the 4kids version. i cant be bothered gogin into detail theres lots of videos showing you on youtube. But that replaced weapons with toys, gave them crappy catch phrases, removed arcs, changed scenes, cut. ect lots more. so ic an see why you would think it was childish from that.

Also the sub i'll admit that the 1st lots of eps arent really that good to get you stuck in but like.. 40's when the crew has been assembled thats when it becomes really good. and later on some of the arcs are really well done. Oda is awesome for his storylines and ideas. I would suggest giving the manga a chance. And as for the new dub by funimation i think there doing a good job with it.

I'm currently on episode 36 and it's zoomed straight to 4th on my favourite anime list. At first, it was a little hard to get into, and I thought it was a little stupid. But I continued watching it and everything just becomes acceptable and natural to the series. You wonder how Gintama would have ever done without it's wacky comedy, unique characters, sense of reality, and nature of each episode. It's really unlike any I've ever seen. Quite recently I finished Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu! and I thought that was the funniest anime ever, but now I'm starting to wonder, because Gintama is just hilarious. Every episode makes you laugh, every episode offers you something new, it never gets old. Also, Gintama is 90% comedy, but I love how it's able to swtich to drama in the blink of an eye. It manages to go from painfully funny, to tear-jerking sad. Which is damn good direction and writing, right there! I hope that expresses my opinion on it good enough, I love it, basically. The only bad thing about it is that because it doesn't have an on-going story, it's sometimes hard to marathon, or watch in big chuncks.

If you're thinking about watching it, then watch the OVA first to decide, not the first episode of the series. The OVA did come out before the series anyway. I watched the first episode first, but didn't really think much of it. I watched the OVA a few weeks ago though, and loved it. The OVA is only one episode, so nothing long. :)

It's set in Japan during the Edo period, which I believe is in the 1800's, but an aliens known as the Amanto have invaded Earth and have basically taken over. Because of the Amanto, however, the Earth now has technology more advance than we have in our present time. So it's like... set in the future... set in the past. Weird, huh. It's got action, comedy, science fiction, fantasy, romance, everything. It also parodies a ton of animes, and I really do mean a ton. It's fun watching an anime parody an anime. Of course it also parodies TV shows, films, books, characters and other things as well. One of it's genre's could even be listed as parody. Theres a lot more to it, but thats basically the jist of things.

137 so far. The subs are a bit mucked up though, theres subs all the way up to episode 96, but after that some episodes are missing because they haven't been subbed yet. Like, episode 97 hasn't been subbed, but 98 and 99 have. Episode 100 hasn't been subbed, but 101, 102, 103, 104 and 105 have, then there is no episodes with subs until episode 109, etc. The missing episodes are currently being subbed at a weekly rate though. Also, in January Crunchyroll are going to start officially uploading the latest Gintama episodes subbed a week after they've been aired in Japan, much like what they're doing with Naruto. So there will be no need for fansubbers to sub Gintama after January, apart from the missing episodes.

I know, I'm still not sure if I should be ranking it above Utawarerumono or not, but if it isn't at number five, it's definitely at number six. I might change my list again soon, but for now Baccano remains at number five. :P

I watched the first nine episodes non-stop last night, then watched the last four episodes and all three episodes of the OVA with very few breaks inbetween today. In my opinion, Baccano is one of the most interesting and original anime series out there. If the story was told straight forward and normally, then it wouldn't have been as good. Thankfully it isn't told like that though, it's told in a non-sequential style, which is what makes it so damn good. Like most shows, Baccano does have a main storyline, but unlike most shows it presents you with many different stories which show how each of the character's lives have intertwined in the past to meet at the main story. That may be hard to understand while being read, but let me tell you, it's one of the most interesting ways of storytelling I've ever seen. You'll find that the surroundings the characters interact with, and the things they get up to all directly affect another character, and so on. It's extremely hard to explain, but if you watch it, straight away you'll get what I mean. I can't think of one single bad thing about it. The first episode or two are quite confusing, and you are kind of thrown into the middle of a story, but once you pick up on whats actually happening it's beyond fantastic from start to finish. The characters are some of the best I've ever seen, and whats more it's kind of like there aren't any main characters since it focuses on so many. The animation is very slick and smooth and stood out as very fitting since it's set mostly in 1930, and eveything else is just perfect.

After typing that, I think it definitely deserves to be above Utawarerumono, and maybe even Sword of the Stranger. You should watch it. Now! Seriously, it's amazing.

Better than sword of the stranger? no way! Get out!

Sword of the Stranger is limited since it's only a movie and it is one specific genre. The fact that it takes it's limitation and spits in it's face and the fact that it takes a genre that has used to death but gives us one of the best damn presentations I've ever seen is why it's ranked very high on my list. Baccano is a mix of many genres. It mixes alchemy with the mafia, train robbery with horror and comedy with action. It's 13 episodes long as well, and there is also a 3 episode long OVA, so it's not so limited on time. That said though, Baccano was a surpringsly fast paced series, and the ending of each episode pretty much always ended on a cliffhanger, and it always worked well. There is not one single dull moment in it either. Since it is non-sequential, it just rules out the boring parts (if there are any...) and mixes them with awesome parts. Baccano remains at the same pace throughout, which happens to be one damn good pace. For now I'll leave Baccano at 5 and Sword of the Stranger at 4, but each one is as good as the other.

I never wait to put anything in my top 10. If it has my attention, if I think it's good, then it's in there. Everything I've done that with hasn't dropped from my list in a hurry either, they're there to stay. I know a good anime when I see one. :8 Even though Gintama is the meaning of life, I'd say forget that for now and watch Baccano. I wanna just hype it and and prasie it but I don't want to rasie your expectations to amazing heights. :P It could not be better though. Also, it's probably best to watch in one sitting, of over the period of a few days.

Wow. I just finished watching 5 Centimeters per Second in all it's glory in BluRay... The animation is simply one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The movie itself is also breathtaking and actually very true to life which seems quite rare in anime. The ending is immensely sad, and I will have to admit that a tear escaped my eye. That makes four different animes that have made me cry now!

I think I'll definitely have to put it on my top ten when I can be bothered to rearrange it again. Along with Nodame Cantabile, which is simply fantastic, even though I haven't finished it yet.

I am a little girl when it comes to sad films and series. :P Yeah it follows a guy through part of his childhood, teenage life and then adulthood. It's only around one hour long, but it just drags you in so easily. It's an extremely beautiful movie, but it's also surprisingly quite depressing.
