This is particularly aimed at anyone on here that owns one,,but I was looking at first cars,,and I would love a Vauxhall Corsa aged from 2001 upwards,,but with my prices range they go amazingly fast :(,,ssoooo I was looking at Peugeot 206's and was wondering what they are like to drive and stuff?,,I was looking at the 1.1 engines, so any useful information will be helpful :D

I have an old Auto Express Used Car Top 10s and here is what is said about the 206:

"SIX years after its launch, the French firm's popular hatchback is still one of the trendiest small cars money can buy. As a result, it's not badly hit by depreciation, and you'll appreciate those strong residual values when you want to sell. HDi diesels are excellent, but in this instance the 1.1 petrol is best, as it has Group 3 insurance"

If you do test drive the Peugeot and find it isn't for you, try the Citroen Saxo 1.4 Furio (1997-2003), Ford Ka (1996-date), SEAT Ibiza 1.2 S (2002-date) or MG ZR 105+

1.1 is slow, but it is very good for a first car :D

same as above.
i was walking to my exam today and saw an s reg silver 1.1 saxo going for 900 quid, i was like woah.

corsas are great, but the newer models (not newest, they are even moreso) expensive. 206s, or even 106/306s are good. peugeots are good runners.

peugeots are good choices for first cars, such as the 106, 206, 306, etc. You won't get much oomph out of a 1.1, mind!

yeah I was thinking that,,but a 1.1 will be cheaper to insure as well.

The 206 is decent. I'd rather have a Clio though or even a Corsa. Stay clear of Puntos.

Well from my experience of driving one it just felt crap to drive and was slow in comparison to other cars i've driven with the same engine size.
