I always seem to have blood shot eyes and I don't know what's wrong. I don't think it's a lack of sleep because I get 8 hours on weekdays and about 10 or more on weekends. I don't know what else could be a possible cause apart from lack of sleep, but I don't think that's the case.

I got this a few years ago. When I finally got around to seeing a Doctor he told me it was an allergic reaction and gave me stuff to take to prevent it from happening. Or you could have that conjuctuvitis (sp) thing.

sitting too close to the tv / computer screen doesn't strain your eyes.

My mate is like always on the computer and he had blood shot eyes, he went on holiday for the weekend and came back looking normal. Perhaps you're spending too long on the computer? :P

I get painful blood shot eyes alot of the time, however it tends to be in the same eye. I had it in the other eye, but after a course of eyedrops for that eye I've not had it since.

My doctor diagnosed me with something called sclertis - had to go to an eye specialist and everything, and if it's not treated I could go blind, but hopefully it will never get that bad.
