AOL UK
On 10 October 2006, Carphone Warehouse announced the purchase of parts of AOL UK for £370 m. This makes Carphone Warehouse the 3rd largest broadband provider, with over 2 million customers, and the largest LLU Operator with more than 150,000 LLU customers.
The acquisition process completed on the 9 December 2006
Was years ago, but haven't got around to changing the names yet.

You need a mobile or a special modem to pick up the GPRS/3G/3.5G mobile networks -.-'
CPW bought AOL. That's why speedtest shows AOL. The image in someones sig uses your DNS to work out your ISP. Since AOL's internet service now runs through Opal Telecom's servers/network your DNS will have ipadressorsomething.opaltelecom.com - something like that.

Sorry, to bump, but i cant leave a Unanswered technicl question like this :P
This is becasue back in April, AOL was taken over by Carphone Warehouse
Id highly recommend moving from AOL as Carphone Warehouse has unlimited problems with there CHAP Authentication server wihch causes you to disconnect frequently!
Thanks
Edited by Hayd93 (forum super moderator): Please do not bump old threads.

Why bump an old thread which has already been resolved, it's against forum rules..
