View Full Version : [Tut] Make Firefox load pages faster
If you follow these steps, your Firefox should load pages much faster :)
Step 1
Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Step 2
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to 8. Step 3
Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

I've already quite heavily modified the settings but thanks for the additional help, there's one on the link I hadn't modified.
Fasterfox also vastly improves things:

Fasterfox<3
LOL Jordy, I might have an addon you wanna try. I'm making my own Firefox add-ons, it's a performance enhancer for Youtube videos. It's quite cool.

I use the fasterfox addon, but I did that tut in the other link and I can see an improvement in page loading time (images still take as long but the page loads faster)!

Seen it hundreds of times, but I know it'll help alot of others.
Im using Firefox Beta 3 (Only version which doesn't crash for me now), and Firefast isn't compatible with it yet.
Ill return rep when I get time :P
