Hey,
I think the news at live is a fantastic idea!
Is it gonna be on habboxlive.com?
And i guess it is gonna be professional, mature voice (Sorry finkelstein, i have never heard you DJ :))

You should just make one news recording a day and make DJs play it every hours or summin.

Yah, it's be on HxL and Finkelstien does have a very proffesional and mature voice :P
Also, I was very against it being played every hour else it'd just get annoying and boring, like hearing a song loads. Obviously it may change but with 2 different broadcasts only on weekdays I think it'll be pretty good.

As Jess said, News at Live will be presented by Finkelstien (who has a wonderful newsreading voice), and will be aired twice a day, on weekdays. Both daily broadcasts will be different, of course :)
Great to see such a positive response at the moment, the News Reporters also responded well, and I'm really looking forward to Monday evening.

ClubHabbo done something similar to this ages ago, it didn't work too well so they stopped after a while - Theirs was done every hour, every day and it did get quite boring.
Hopefully this one won't turn out the same way.

I think it's a great idea and a great way to merge both departments.

The main reason was the fact it costed us 20 quid a month, lol. I think It's a good idea.

Well I've got an idea or two (which Yum knows about now) which could improve the idea of downloading the sound files constantly which would be pretty annoying for some DJ's who will forget from time to time, from downloading the file. You could do them alot more frequently then, like everyday at 12 - 5 - 10 yknow? :)

Perhaps this could pave the way for a new era at Habboxlive?
Perhaps radio dramas, shows could air?
i.e. loose women style chat etc

Now you're making it sound like a radioTube ahahah. God actually, inspiration! :O
I just thought of something amaaazing for the Live department, omgz0rz.

That actually came up in a convo with someone the other day lol, but yeah maybe just see how this one goes first ;P.

2 times a day, every weekday means 10 times a week which is more than enough.

I can't say I've ever listened to ClubHabbo Radio, but I'm glad we didn't have the audacity to name our project letter for letter after Radio 1's flagship news service. I believe it shows very little imagination :eusa_whis
Of course, if another site introduces a feature which turns out to be successful, we are going to look into it, it's in the best interests of our users. In this case, I'm told that ClubHabbo failed to make it successful, so rather than labelling us copycats, I prefer to think we're pioneering and brave :P

If I'm honest, I'm not too keen on the name. I think "News on Live" sounds a little more like it. By the looks of it, you've tried to do a pun on "News at Five" which is... interesting to say the least :P
Apart from that, I think its a great idea and I hope it comes off!

Yeah I certainly have high hopes for it.
Hopefully it gets well advertised.
@Alex - I quite like that name!

17-05-2008, 10:37 PM
I have never heard of News at Five, so that definitely was not the intention at the time. Also, I thought of the name as it's both the Habbox News and Habbox Live radio services being merged into one.
Thanks for the fantastic feedback everyone. It's greatly appreciated :).

Yeah I thought it was a bit tenuous when I typed it but it was the only logical reasoning i could think of for the name. For the record, there isn't a news at five :P

What about Five News with Natasha Kaplinsky? :P
No, it's certainly not a pun on anything like that, as Finkelstien thought up the name, and as he sais, he's never heard of News at Five. I must say, to start with I was a bit dubious about the name, but now it's grown on me and I really like it.
Great to see such a positive reaction so early on, we're hoping that with the News Department expanding beyond the traditional written reports for the first time in our history, we'll be able to reach a much larger audience, many of whom would never really read our reports.
Roll on Monday :D

Wow positive feedback - Um we are missing something...
Someone needs to say 'What a **** idea, I have been on this forum for 1 day and the management is appaling.'
AnywayI will try to tune in if I can :)
If it becomes a huge hit perhaps hire DJ's that just do news - As some DJ's are fun but arn't that easy to understand.
Good luck Finkelstein :)
P.S. Who was the rep from my VIP just ran out :P

Hmm i expected more of you Alex. Gosh what are SMOD's coming too. Sort it out habbox >:{
On topic, true comment (Not talking out my ***): I think a clip should be recorded just incase Finkelstein misses out for a reason. And we don't want him to be bored... Mind you if there is a new bit of news a old recorded clip would be baddddd! Perhaps Finkelstein could just say what news reporter posted it just so they get a bit of thanks too :)

Both daily segments will be different, to incorporate the latest news, and will be pre-recorded around twenty minutes before broadcasting, so that we minimise the chance of missing out on any important breaking headlines.
Any closer to the airtime though, and we risk missing the deadline if there are any technical problems.
The pilot went very well, so I'm hoping that the on air transmissions will be equally successful. If this is the case and we decide to allow News at Live to become a permanent fixture, then we will of course look for a second presenter to cover for Finkelstien and perhaps take on any additional segments which may be introduced at a later date.
At the moment, everything is shaping up well for tomorrow. Let's hope it's all right on the night. :)
