Hiya - just got a quick question i need help with!
Basically, my computer is pretty much on it's last legs lol. I've had it for a few years now and it's done me well but I am trying to hold off until September before getting a new laptop for uni.
However, I had a near scare last night with it and nearly lost all my stuff. So tonight I am just getting a big back up done while I am back on and able to, incase it dies any time soon lol.
I plan to just put all my files and stuff on usb pens for now as they can store all I need. However, that only leaves my stuff like music and photos.
The music I don't wanna lose but I can bear it lol. However, a lot of the photos I have only got these copies of so some are quite important and stuff. I also have a huge amount of them so it would be unfeesable to put them on the storage mediums I have available.
However, someone mentioned I could somehow upload them online or something so if it does happen I can just access them again. One way I considered would be to email myself them - but you can only have 50 per email so it could be time consuming. However, I don't want just anybody and everybody seeing them as some are personal etc of family... So is there any sort of photo upload sites that I could make private?
Thanks a lot for help, and I will give +rep!

You can put your album on private so if someone wants to access your photos they have to input a password of your choice; you can do this on 'account options'

Uhm 40mb, Thats what you can get off this site (https://www.web-a-file.com/Redirect.cgi?html=plans.html&SessionID=&)
You need more than that?
Or for 5gb Here (http://www.xdrive.com/)
Picctu.net is getting recoding and hat will support things like this in about two month when it reopens. In the mean time i'd be happy to upload the .ZIP onto the server until then.

If you want to invest in something, I think an external hard drive would be your best bet.. and they are pretty safe.
Plug it in, drag and drop, unplug. Backed up. And it is just like dragging from your desktop to your my documents, no pesky upload times.
And you can use them over and over for other stuff.

I agree, in your situation, i'd get a HDD - I don't think you can trust an image hoster with so many precious memories or whatever..
There is a plugin which you can get for FireFox which allows you to upload files to a gmail account and use your nearly 7GB storage to upload and save your files to Google's servers. I think it's this. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1593

Put all your photos into 1 zip file, then upload the zip file to http://www.rapidupload.com/
Remember to write down the url of the uploaded file (adding it to your favorites wont work, because if your computer does break then you wont know the url)
EDIT: or if you have a hotmail account, simply go to skydrive (click the vista like button near the top of your hotmail window and select skydrive from the window) You can drag whole folders of photos into it and it uploads them all (upto 5 gig)

As others have said, External hard drive :)
They may not be free, but its worth it, keeping them memories.
