View Full Version : News @ live, download link!
Are you tired of missing the News at Live?
i know there has only been one, but i wanted to make it sound professional :p
Well, i have an idea. For those poeple that miss the News at Live. Habbox(live) should produce a link for those 'Muppets' that missed it to be able to download!
Mwahahah.
Soz im one of those idiotic muppets!
don't start saying. "NO NO NO NO THATS STUPID.. 'goes into lecture'" as i already get that of my own mother.
Edit: this will only be availible for download, for one day. As DJ Ready-T will delete the links, as he places the new ones.
oh yea!

I'm going to stick my neck out here, be realistic and say that such a service would be time consuming (given that writing the scripts, recording, editing and uploading each segment already takes well over an hour, so that's two hours a day alongside normal reporting duties for Finkelstien).
I also don't think it would be popular. Nobody wants to hear old news. If they are interested in what's happening, I think they'd much rather log on to BBC News and find out, rather than waiting for ten minutes for a download of a five minute summary.
That's my view. :P

It could be put on the HxL site I guess, maybe could put it on and see if it was any popular. Not sure though, like already said who wants to hear old news?
well, as i said, change it daily, on Weekends, dont provide any :)
People miss it, they will download that, and it may be on the same day, so its not really 'old' news :)

Did it actually sound professional? Anyone?
well, considering DJ Ready T wasnt in the 'state' to do so. I heard that DJ Ready T made it very professional

Hmm, this download link idea would go sufficently well with the idea I PM'd you Yum, but nevermind. I doubt it sounded amazingly professional but then this isn't the BBC, it's Habbo and you dont have to be amazing to hit it off.

Couldn't you;
- Collaborate the week's news
- Mash it down a touch
- Release it as a weekly news podcast on HxL, rather than "download yesterdays news" which wouldnt sound too appealing.

I've always thought HxL should provide weekly podcasts for their most popular shows... :P
I don't know, it's more a radio aspect so I'll leave it entirely to Jess :)

Today's 6pm edition has been put on the HabboxLive site along with a poll.
But this is just to get feedback from the listeners and I don't think it will be a daily thing.
We tried the podcast thing, 3 times. It's really time consuming but might be an idea to try it again this summer.

While we're on the subject of News at Live, further minor changes have been made.
The 6pm edition (Afternoon Live) is now considerably shorter, just featuring three stories - one from Habbo UK, one from International Habbo and one from Outside Habbo.
Our main bulletin is at 9pm (Primetime Live), and features two reports from each of the above categories.
As Jess said, today's Afternoon Live edition is now available for download. :D

My honest opinion of News at Live at the moment is that, yes, it is a great concept, but doesn't sound all that great. It's a RPC jingle followed by a guy who keeps blowing into his bloody microphone - now that is unproffesional.
Sort out how it sounds, sort out the presenter and sort out what sorta news prioritises the other, and then you'll have something sounding decent. I'll see if I can digout a track of the ClubHabbo Community News Sheet - now that sounded good.

Yes Olleh and the difference between the service offered on the site you where fired from is that they paid a producer to compile the clips each and every day and from what I can remember it cost so much that they couldn't continue paying for the service after a week or two.
So in all honesty to make a comparison is a tad pathetic, in my honest opinion.

Please remember that we are very much in the testing stage, we're experimenting with different aspects in each broadcast.
Obviously we've not yet found the perfect balance, but I think you'll note a huge improvement between today's bulletins and our first bulletin, yesterday.

I don't care how unprofessional people say it is, Finkelstein's newsreading voice is pure class, someone get the BBC to hire him!
However, he does have a point about the plosive sounds in the microphone, I had a big problem with it when recording my songs. The solution is to hold it further away from your mouth, turn up the input volume and speak louder, then you dont get the rush of air entering the microphone every time you say the letter P or B. Also, I've never heard of the "Pittel Patch" :P. I don't know whether thats an accent thing or something though.
I hope this carries on, I like the concept and the beta sounds great.

I have to agree with Alex Finklestein sounded just like somebody off GMTV or BBC news or something which gave me a bit of a giggle at the time :P
Full respect to Finklestein though for doing it just need to sort out a few minor trivial things and it should be perfect.

Portish, I think you're either posting in the wrong thread/catagory/forum or you've just been hit on the head by something rather big (rather like Olleh's ego). If we wanted to hear the Clubhabbo news sheet we would've asked because I don't think anyone is interested in hearing a hasbeen system which didn't work for Clubhabbo.
Sure as hell no-one will be interested now, especially since not many people were interested when it was first introduced. Give Habbox a damn chance in making this work and stop making it out that 'Clubhabbo got the idea first'. News on the Radio has been around for a long time, it doesn't give you (or Olleh) the right to post such things.
Ugh, I hate it when fansites start getting ******. It's like kids in a playground screaming "You're gay because er... I'm better!" and well, there's always one more mature kid in a situation like that. You'll never guess who the mature person (or should I say, people) in this situation is/are? GRR Now I'm wound up lol.

Jesus Christ, lighten up. If you read my previous post on this thread, I said I thought it was a good idea and wished Habbox the best luck in it. Ollie said he would try getting a preview of the ClubHabbo News Sheet and since he didn't succeed I posted it on his behalf. Dude, you need to understand people before you have a go at them.
