Microphone problem...

Hey,

At the moment I seem to have a VERY strange problem with my microphone.

Now, I immediately suspected the microphone itself but I tested it in my dad's laptop and it worked fine. Then I thought it might be the soundcard, So I booted up Skype and it worked fine...

This is where it gets weird, I ended the call and then tried the Microphone again (Im using Sound Recorder just to see if I am getting an input) and I got nothing. Started the call again and I got an input...

Any ideas to what is up and how to rectify this problem!

I don't think you've set the microphone as the default microphone on the computer. It would help if you tell us what OS your using and if the microphone is USB or not.

Find 'Sounds' in Control Panel and try select the microphone and make it default.

Hey,

The microphone is set as the default and I am using Windows XP. Its a 3.5mm Microphone that just plugs into the soundcard.

Its been working before and I only just started to have this problem so...
