I have a few questions to ask and I need a few pointers, I am currently Level 17 and use a mix of M16(Red Dot Scope) & M40A3 for sniping. I wanted to know how do people get 20-30 kills when I average about 5 a match?
I havent got much weapons unlocked, though whats the best all rounder weapon, I need some tips asap. Also Whats the best perks to use and can someone give me a breif outline on each map wether it's sniping or assault.
Thanks alot and +rep to all sensible answers.

right for a close battle map id use a mp5 with stopping power as perk 2 and deep impact on perk 3

for long distant maps use m16 with stopping power and deep impact perk 1 use somthing like rpgs

The people who get 30 kills or something they're probably really good or they're noob tubing. (RPG's and Rockets)

After a few months of play you'll be able to get like 30 kills a match, you just have to get a good feel for the game, what guns are better on what maps, which perks work best with these guns, how you personally prefer to play etc.
Give it 2-3 months and you'll be getting 30 kills a match if you get a hang of the weapons in the game, in the majority of my games I get 30+ kills and I'm not a pro at it, you'll see people on it that will come along and get like 50 kills and 5 deaths (that's if you play HQ enough)

Like D4n said use stopping power with your guns, it helps, I would suggest using Badolier when you unlock it whenever you use an SMG because they haven't got a huge amount of ammo xD
Extra frags or special grenades help with an M16 class, personally I use bomb squad on everything but SMG classes, unless it's a ghost class then I use bomb squad as an exception, you really just have to play about, see what works better for you, red dot sight is easily the best addon for most of the guns, if you go sniper I wouldn't suggest using the ACOG scope, some people like it but I don't quite understand why, ghost classes should use silencers on both weapons, anything else would be better with red dot sight but it's all down to personal preference

My best was 52 kills on Wetwork..
My setup was:

MP5 with red dot
Golden desert eagle
Three Frags
Deep Impact
Martyrdom

Not sure about the perk but the rest are sure..

I like the m4 carbine with red dot. Perks are deep impact, deeper penetration, bandolier. That works a charm!

Use a SMG if you need quick fire bullets, the AK47-U or p90 (which you don't have i think) are good.. but otherwise use the Mp5, that is also good..

Also, you need good reflectes, when you go around the corner look all around yourself, when I watch my brother play he just runs straight out of a door, and gets shot a lot.

ACOG R700 works great on Wetworks and Bog!

When unlocked, the G36C is pretty sweet with a grenade launcher. Mostly 'cause the beast almost fires in a straight line from the hip. Though until then I'd suggest M4 with red dot. UAV jammer always for me. Silenced pistol, bomb squad/claymores, dead silence. Usually deep impact until dead silence is unlocked.

As Neil said, it really is down to experience and comfort. When you know which set-up works best you'll be able to play much better.

I often "Ghost" about on matches purely because if you're enemy doesn't know where you are it is a great advantage.

When I play hardcore modes I can flank with ease and simply pick up 4/5 kills instantly. But if you're playing HQ i wouldn't reccomend it, you need brute power in that to clean up if someone else is capturing the HQ. I'd reccomend the G36 when you unlock it or the M4 with either Grenade Launcher or red dot sight.

For sniping it all depends on what mode and what gun you feel right with, I personally like the M4 whatever it is and the M21 sniper.

Yeah, I don't think that ACOG or grenade launcher'll help much, since neither're really effective outside of Hardcore to me. Silencer proves useful but red dot'll help you much more.

I use a mixture of AK74-U, silenced and the first assault rifle, red dot sight.
Perks don't really matter, I usually stick with the RPG's, until I unlock 3x frag. Sometimes claymores, but not often.

As you play more you get more aware. I only really started recovering my K/D ratio a couple of prestige's back. Was on something like 0.9. If you can get anything like only one or two deaths more than kills at first your doing fine.

Oh, and shipment (the small map) use either a stopping power SMG with red dot, or shotgun.

Just stick with it, and play HQ (my fav. game type. Fair amount of xp, and its not as specialised as say Search and Destroy).

They are perks. Each section of perks have different colours (Blue is perk 1, Red is perk 2 and yellow is perk 3 (I think))

Neil

SMG - SubMachine Gun

Deagle - Desert Eagle

Any blue perk - Bomb Squad lets you see planted claymores and I believe C4

Any yellow perk - Dead silence means you make less noise when moving around

Yah, don't really touch any of the other SMGs unless you're in hardcore. Clips're too small for normal game types.

Na Bandolier helps with that

I meant a clip as in one magazine. Like if you're trying to kill someone with a Skorpion, you usually end up emptying a clip on them, where as a couple of burts should do it in hardcore.

I have 3 different class's for Deathmatch's and I rather often get MVP in Team Deathmatch so here's my two cents, this is just my opinion though not what you have to do :P

I'd have an Assault (Short, Mid, Long), LMG (Short, Mid) and Sniper class (Long). This is what sort of class I'd use on the maps:

Ambush - Assault (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2341/2071714158_48ec9e23bd_o.jpg)

Backlot - Assault (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2256/2075325695_8e9da2a15d_o.jpg)

Bloc - Sniper (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2248/2068087341_985d7cd787_o.jpg)

Bog - Sniper (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2026/2083245589_00126ab995_o.jpg)

Countdown - Sniper (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2348/2085462563_dd6e46bb5d_o.jpg)

Crash - Assault (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2158/2068757736_4803a24190_o.jpg)

Crossfire - Assault (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2206/2072700603_d549e96276_o.jpg)

District - Assault (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2073/2101054492_6ec5b06d04_o.jpg)

Downpour - LMG (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2302/2070261139_fe898a26b7_o.jpg)

Overgrown - Assault (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2220/2068757416_dc36de746b_o.jpg)

Pipeline - Assault (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2340/2075326007_a0fb762af9_o.jpg)

Showdown - LMG (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2385/2126784564_d17501fa92_o.jpg)

Strike - Assault (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2022/2086267359_35669677a5_o.jpg)

Vacant - LMG (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2174/2068841312_dd5798da24_o.jpg)

Wetwork - LMG (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2018/2070672651_ed957a5873_o.jpg)

Assault
G63C (if possible) is best, M16 or M4 Carbine is also great.
Red Dot Sight

Perk 1 - Bandolier comes in useful when you begin getting lots of kill streaks however until then, Fragx3 is probably best for now but Perk 1 isn't too useful anyway.

Perk 2 - Stopping Power is an essential in perk 2 for every Deathmatch class, always use it!

Perk 3 - Martyrdom often scores lots of kills if you get right into the action and don't camp as much. Rather essential too.

LMG
Doesn't really matter which LMG you use, they're all very similar, always try use a LMG over a SMG, it's less reloading, better range and almost as quick gun fire, they can't be silenced but that's not a concern in Deathmatchs.

I always use my M60E as it's gold but the RPD is probably the best, doesn't matter though really. Remember not too reload unless there is a dire need as it takes agesssss.

Red dot sight.

Perk 1 - Fragx3 is very good on short range maps like Wetworks and once you learn how to cook and throw them in effective places and combined with martyrdom they can be almost as valuable as a gun. Watch other people throwing 'random' grenades and you'll soon pick-up some easy and funny kills.

Perk 2 - Stopping Power is still great in short range, less bullets aye?

Perk 3 - Martyrdom is still also good and especially on Short range maps.

Snipers
When your unfamiliar with sniping and would just like some easy kills the M21 is good, it's not the most powerful but you don't have to reload every shot and it's rather fast firing, semi-automatic ;)

Don't use ACOG, however as it is an M21 you could and it wouldn't really effect much.

Perk 1 - Claymores are good if you learn to plant them properly in door-ways, they don't often get kills but they're often useful as a reminder so you can turn around and get the intruder while your sniping/camping.

Perk 2 - Stopping Power is yet again useful with snipers, definitely with an M21 otherwise it'll take a number of bullets to get a kill.

Perk 3 - Steady aim, I'm not too sure on the third perk on Sniping but I use steady aim so you can kill people easily with out even scoping should you get in a short-range gun fight, Iron Lungs could also be good but if you've got a good aim that isn't necessary.

These class's are useless on Search & Destory but good on HQ, Domination and Deathmatchs. The sniper one isn't too good but I find the LMG one and the Assault one's work fine. These sets aren't too good to conserve life either, I often get MVP but sometimes get the most deaths as well, depends if you like camping or running in the action. these class's aren't much good for getting headshots etc either, these are just killing class's :P

M40 (Sniper)
Silenced Pistol
Claymores
Stopping Power
Iron Lungs

Just A suggestion

you have deep impact insted of iron lungs, the reason for this is that you shoot at someone 90% of the time you will get 1 hit kills and then you can keep moving around the map insted of staying and picking of you targets for a long time
