Hey there

Sometimes I download DVD quality movies on my PC
I have a cable which connects he TV to the PC,

But when I try watching movies on my TV from my PC, the image is stretched, its like the movie is stretched to fit in the screen of my TV (26") and my monitor is like 20".

Is there anything I can do to keep the quality and resolution the same? Thanks ;)

What type of format are they in, and what the quality?

As in HD, or what

Some movies I download are in the HD quality, some are not. (My tv is hd ready)
The format is like .wmv or something like that lol

The image just looks stretched to fit in the 26" screen of my tv :/

because when they are ripped they are set to 640 x 320 as it's a standard compression size

Your looking for something bigger then 640 x 320 like dave has said.

It's because the aspect ratio of the monitor and TV differ. Of you set the TV up as an extended desktop monitor rather than mirroring your monitor then you should be fine.

Right click your desktop > properties > settings tab. Click on the second monitor and tick the box extend my desktop to this monitor. Change the resolution on the second montior using the slider to whatever res the Tv is.

I cant put two monitors on the same pc at the same time tho
I have to take the cable of one minitor out of the pc, then put in the other one :/

Ohhhh right i thought you were running a dual monitor setup. Just right click the desktop > Properties > settings tab and drag the resolution slider to match the res of the TV and don't forget to put it back to normal before you reconnect your normal monitor.
