We have now finally setup our VPS after a few days work, I am beginning to hate DNS! :P

Anyways, we now have Jaxer installed on the server, which is just.. great!

The entire site is powered by Jaxer now, which means no PHP code, no MySQL, just plain ol Javascript.

Also, our network now allows for faster speeds, and no more waiting for MySQL to grab your image.

IT LOOKS LIKE ****.

It also has a multiuploader, which is a feature a lot of users were wanting!

Check us out! :)

Working on the speeds right now, the VPS has been undergoing NOS maintenance the past few days, upgrading the Cisco network that the VPS is on.

Thanks! :)

The TTL is set at 10 minutes, but some ISP's may cache it for a day or two.

it's blank, but does it's job

also the upload page has to have picture preview?

Dentafrice
26-05-2008, 06:49 PM
Working on that right now. I'm not very good at styling **** though, and I need to plugin the thumbnailer so it doesn't look crappy when it is resized to the preview.

Mod_Rewrite isn't working either atm, so I am probably going to have to reinstall Jaxer on an already setup Apache install.

Well that is a pretty big image, so it is expected to take a few moments to upload, as it has a lot of color in it :)

I'll have to work out how to manipulate the image in Jaxer, then save it.. or save it.. manipulate.. then save again.

You should add an upload url option, so if there is a image allready on the web and you are not allowed to hotlink it, you can get it uploaded on tehupload.

Hmm, I might do that :) Thanks!

I like the whole system. But its far too plain.

It reminds me of uploadpicz.com - I think it needs some shine to it! :)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

*Image removed*

The site just does not make me want to use it again, splash some colour on it and it should look fab.

Remote file upload now works! You can now upload a file from a remote site, and have it uploaded.

I think tinypic has totally outrun them.

Of course TinyPic has totally outrun TehUpload, it is a professional company.

Its not about colours its about the main thing your meant to do with the site.

Good work Caleb :)

I think tinypic has totally outrun them.

Wth tehupload is run and made by Caleb I don't think Caleb on his own could make his site popular than a pro image hosting site.

You just basically said it's not about the web design it's about the purpose of the site.

What the ****.

As much as i loved tehupload in its previous life , not sure i'm going to be using it at all.. the risk of it going down again after several months and me having to find the pictures reupload them somewhere else and then change things to point to the new images...

Looks great, hope it last but i won't be using it or will atleast put off using it

Where the **** did he say he has finished doing it, he probably will add colours and style to it soon but atm you don't have to go hating it just because of that, why don't you try out using the uploader instead of just looking at the site "ew its blank" and going off of it

I still have all the images from the previous site and past sites, and they are still accesible, but they are on a different server, and the DNS change has made the tehupload.com/image.gif url not availiable anymore.

I can still view and save any image that was uploaded, so there was no data loss.

The only time we lost data was at QunexHost when the server went down around October 2007

Sorry Caleb, your good at coding, but it seems the folk's at aptana should get all the credit for this one.

What about it?

There is a tutorial on uploading files?

Here is one for uploading files with PHP: http://www.tizag.com/phpT/fileupload.php

I guess they should get the credit for Tinypic.

I didn't follow a tutorial for TehUpload, although I did look at that for some reference on how to do things with Jaxer, which is a new thing to me.

So why not ask me things, before you try to knock me down.

How?

Not once letter of code was copied from Aptana, I did however read the documentation on the functions used in that tutorial, and created my own code out of it.

That is like looking at the PHP documentation at a function, and writing an about.html page saying "Thanks to PHP.net for letting me look at their doc."

All the code is mine, written by me.
