View Full Version : Biggest bedroom dilemma

Hello everyone :)
Right, at the moment, I need some help with a situation. I have a medium size decent bedroom, and my sister has the largest room in the house. She's younger than me and we both have around the same amount of stuff. She has had the biggest room in the house in the 4 houses we have had, including this one. The reason is because my sister might share with my younger sister who is 4, although she doesn't actually share with her. We both have friends round, but mum says another reason she gets it is because shes a diabetic (I mean, omg, thats the reason she ALWAYS uses for her to get her own way!!!)
I think its time that I should get a bigger room now, because I haven't had it before. Do you think I should get the bigger room or stay in this one now? Also I will show this to my mum to say what other people think.
Thanks,
ToxicPaddy

Its only a bedroom - sorry but as you get older you will realise it was silly to think this way, when you move out and have your own house/apartment then you can have the biggest bedroom ;). I think your mum should treat your sister like everyone else in your family and not treat her diffrently for being diabetic as your sister will grow up thinking she can get her own way for being a diabetic which is not good.

He needs a bigger room so he can bone his girlfriend in there.
They have tried before when you was at work but his room was to small so it is vital that he gets a bigger room
Btw mum

If it really does bother you, then just sk your sister? She'll probably just say no, but it's worth a try!
ToxicPaddy's mum, let him have the bigger room for a change ;)

I think you should be grateful to have your own bedroom, when I was younger I had to share my room with my brother my whole childhood and you are demanding a bit more space? :P

How are smaller rooms better? I need more space I got stuff like a kettle and I'm buying out of my money, a small fridge soon (its like an 'apartment' in here lol)
And I asked my sister many times she said no, well no is the polite way of what she said I'm afraid I cannot say what she said exactly or I will get perm banned :P

Why would you need a kettle and a fridge in your room when you've got a full size fridge and a kettle downstairs?

You live in a home. Can you not go make a cup of tea downstairs, surely it doesn't hurt that much to come out of your bedroom?

Lol its a long story, sometimes on the weekend my step-dad who I hate is here and I would rather not go downstairs while he is here so on the weekend I am either out a lot of the time, or in my room.

Your mum and dad should get your sisters room because they are the parents innit :P
You should get ur sisters bedroom and your sister get yourn then your youngest get the smallest room which im guessing is the 4th as she is only 4.
Hey presto!
off topic: i thought u meant something rude i.e. not being able to last more than 2secs etc etc
When my sister used to live her, the oldest got the biggest bedroom.
Mainly because my sister was going to leave before me so I would of got this bedroom anyways.
Just say, rather I move into the biggest bedroom, or you want your room re done :P

I said about mum getting biggest room but she's not bothered and she likes the room she's got now :)
Nothing I can do seems to work I mean, redoing the room I have now i got a lot of stuff and there's only one way I can position it, thats the way it is now :(

By re do your room, I mean get it re decorated and new furniture xD
Then if you got your room re done, your sister would want it re done.
your mum would prob rather let you switch rooms than all the hassle :P

IMHO you should get the bigger room as it's only fair.
I used to have the smallest room in the whole house. Now I am sat in it (cause its the 'Study' and the desktop pc in here) and we have the loft converted so its MASSIVE!
But yeah, it's your turn to have the bigger room, and tbh if you let her get away with it again, then she will just push you about for the rest of your life. IT'S ALL ABOUT PRINCIPAL!
And being diabatic to get the big room, I mean come on that's just utterly pathetic.

I agree with the diabetic thing. I would like the loft converted but its full of fiberglass in there and theres no wooden flooring there. Is fiberglass dangerous?
Mum is adamant, still after seeing these messages, that I am not getting the big room :( Thanks all for your time and messages to her, its really appreciated :) Any more ideas are also appreciated :)

I don't get it either. :(
um, yeh, i think you should let your mum and/or dad have the biggest room, that's how we settled it here, the master bedroom should be the parents room.

We have come to a conclusion which I'm happy with.
I'm keeping my bedroom, my sister is keeping hers and my mum is keeping hers. But, in the loft, I'm gonna put some chairs, desk etc up there so its like a second bedroom like a teens den or something like that, but there's a load of fiberglass up there so I got to get that out first, god knows how I'm going to without getting it everywhere and making myself all itchy...
But yea, I'm happy with this :) Thanks again for all your answers!

Well I get 2 rooms, but they are damn small (I live in an apartment) cause im the only child :P
And yes you should have the biggest room as you're older, which means you'll have more friends around, etc.

lol I love how you chose kettle as a choice of appliance in the debate about the larger room. kettles aren't huge appliances. :P
but yeah, it wouldn't bother me but you'd probably be entitled to the larger room.

Being Diabetic is no reason to have a bigger room. If it really was that serious that she needed a bigger room then she should be in hospital. Annoying siblings, I know how you feel.

I tried to take fiberglass out of the loft today but I found a dead rat and it was dead over a year when we had the rat problem after the earthquake, but I am put off it a little bit incase I find another one and don't know what to do now :(

I think that your sister being diabetic is just an excuse for your mum, I dont know why she doesnt let you have the bigger room it may be favourtism but if you get the loft its good. Why not just hire some workers to convert the loft for you then you dont have to do anything? And I doubt your parents will do it as they may say "It's your responsibility".
Just persuade your mum, they crack after a while ;). Its all about the persuasive technique :P.

Well, if she's sharing the room, then I think she should get it but being diabetic isn't really a reason for someone to get the biggest bedroom. I think that just teaches them that because they're diabetic, they should get more things that the average person, which isn't true.

She isn't sharing the largest room anymore, she used to but not anymore because the younger one got another room. And I agree with the diabetic thing.
