Jelsoft has just released vB 3.7.1 which fixes over 60 bugs but has no mandatory template changes which is good news to those who upgraded to 3.7.0 recently ;).

They have also announced they will be releasing new bug fixing versions every 2 months unless there is a security bug or lots of bugs fixed. The bug fixes will be released on the final tuesday of the month (every 2 months) unless there are security issues where they will release the fix as soon as possible.

More information, as always at vBulletin.com/forum/

Also new is the vBulletin development blog where vB developers will be posting periodically news about what has been in the works behind the scenes and what to expect from Jelsoft in the near feature. All sounds exciting and its a good start to improvement in transparency (compared to IPB who have been doing this for a few months now).

About time that we got better communication from Jelsoft, and good to see an improved system finally going into place.

May even see 4.0 before 2010!

To be honest I would expect 4.0 by end of 2009

Hmm, I don't see that happening myself at current development speeds ;).

We won't really be able to predict it without any information on how far 4.0 is etc and we will only find that out when the first or second development blog comes out :).

You referring to beta or stable (gold)?

I'm not gonna rant on or anything but if they keep coding at the standards they do I most certainly wont be looking forward to see what they can pull out of their hat for 4.0. I'd rather wait for IP.Board 3.

Their coding standards are very good, you are just forgetting that the foundation code is 5 or so years old.
