Not impressed tbh.

My dad got given a macbook air and i was like wow these are ment to be really good spec and stuff. 2 days after he bought it overheated, Manafacturing Fault. Then the CPU locked up. Manafactures fault.

and yes it maybe slim but the amoount of stuff u need to carry for it my dads gonna be a very muscely guy by time hes finished with it.

If anybody else has any of these problems or has a story bout theres d tell jus like a warning type thing :) lol

Heh, at least he didn't buy it, otherwise people will be laughing at him. They are such a pointless creation, they're no more portable than any other laptop/macbook/notebook.

The MacBook Air has a buyer, and it seems your dad isn't that person. Shame, he should of got given a Macbook he would have more luck. I'm not a big fan of the MacBook air. But most Apple Products are very good, Im sure Apple will be willing to fix it. Good Luck on it though.

Macbook Air isnt for buisness IMO.

Your needing a Macbook Pro for that. I think the Air is more of a fashion accesory.. and im a mac user so dont flame me for that.

Specs look good on paper but practically they suck. Looks pretty though!

The whole point of it was for business, small, minimalist, lightweight, designed for use on airplanes etc :|

The Macbook Air is for business.
For a lot of typing work, e.g executive, small design work.

Macbook Pros are for the heavy work.

I've played around with a Macbook Air, they're brilliant for text & small vector design work.

And being totally useless.

To be honest I agree with that, it was designed for business and didn't for fill the expectations of what they fully need really.

Sorry, Im not very good at explaining things.

What I meant is, if your a buisness worker who handles lots of stuff. Air isnt ideal. You will be doing lots of tasks.. not just mild use. Surely someone gets me.

Get out your mood Dave, I have spoken with Tawm and we are ok now. Give it a rest please. I was in a mood.

Define business worker?

Movie editors aren't business workers.
Macbook Airs are for lightweight work, I.E text docs,
But do have the ability for work of a MacBook, it just won't run it as well as it could.

Like all notebooks, macbooks and laptops:

Small and light (which most 15.5" screened laptops are).

They're not even ideal for work in an office, you need somewhere to plug a projector in, why should people buy an adaptor when it should be there? Most planes can fit a laptop... Unless you plan to take a 22" screened laptop, but even that will still fit :P

But the whole put is the computer multi-tasks for you whilst you do those "lots of tasks" it has the spec to do all these stuff, however the problem is that fact the price and the design.

Edit for Gomme: the ideal was to be for just light work not hard backup etc, basically a portable HDD with actual screen etc however they weren't able to do it successfully.
