View Full Version : Help, maths?
Ok, we're doing M7...
Could you tell me how to work out this question as I've kinda forgot.
To make "dry mix", cement and sand are mixed in the ratio 1:3.
Find the volume of cement and the volume of sand in 0.68m(little 3) of dry mix.
add parts = 2 + 1 = 3 parts
450 / 3 = 150 pound per part.
1:2 ratio, therefore
amy = 1 x 150 = 150 pound
jane = 2 x 150 = 300 pound
total = 450 pound
add parts = 2 + 1 = 3 parts
450 / 3 = 150 pound per part.
1:2 ratio, therefore
amy = 1 x 150 = 150 pound
jane = 2 x 150 = 300 pound
total = 450 pound

this one...
total = 0.68m cubed
1 + 3 = 4 parts total
0.68 / 4 = 0.17m cubed per part
cement = 1 x 0.17 = 0.17 m cubed
sand = 3 x 0.17 = 0.51 m cubed
total = 0.68 m cubed
;)

Yeah, lol I worked it out from the method above... you've helped me remember :P
