Ok, we're doing M7...

Could you tell me how to work out this question as I've kinda forgot.


To make "dry mix", cement and sand are mixed in the ratio 1:3.
Find the volume of cement and the volume of sand in 0.68m(little 3) of dry mix.

add parts = 2 + 1 = 3 parts

450 / 3 = 150 pound per part.

1:2 ratio, therefore

amy = 1 x 150 = 150 pound
jane = 2 x 150 = 300 pound
total = 450 pound

this one...

total = 0.68m cubed

1 + 3 = 4 parts total

0.68 / 4 = 0.17m cubed per part

cement = 1 x 0.17 = 0.17 m cubed
sand = 3 x 0.17 = 0.51 m cubed
total = 0.68 m cubed
