View Full Version : MSN - Sign in problem

Hello there,

I went out this evening, and left the computer on. The computer hibernated, and signed me out of MSN. It has done this in the past and I have had no problems. When I tried to log back in, it said it could not, and I noticed that everytime I was trying to sign in, it is adding 2/3 more characters to my password. When I try to use eBuddy, it also says it can not log me in.

I could sign into hotmail fine with the password I have selected, just not MSN. however now it says I have used too many attemps at signing in. I did recieve threats from Josh Evans on these forums, saying and I quote 'is your MSN working fine ;)'.

Please could some explain what the problem could be, and how to resolve it? Very urgent as this is my main MSN with over a 1000 contacts.

EDIT: Could this be that Josh has tried to guess my password, and therefore when I signed into MSN it was blocking me out due to all the attempts? I just noticed when signing into a very old MSN of mine, it also added the 2 characters however logged in fine.

Try uninstalling MSN then reinstalling it, I say that because it sounds like some kind of MSN virus as its adding characters to your password on its own, also maybe try typing your password in on a word document or something then copying it and pasting it into the password bar.

If that doesn't work then make a new addy you can always add them girls again ;)

MSN does add a few characters to your password that's nothing out of the ordinary! Try reinstaling MSN!

my only guess of the problem would be the people threatenin you..

obviously it could be your fat fingers typing the wrong password ...

Little confused about the warning and the above post..

He called me Fat fingers, therefore my post was a reply 'Very Funny... fat fingers :S?' which is a question to him as to why he is calling me fat fingered, and NOT me calling him fat fingered xD

Read your posts mods.

This post isn't going to be too helpful in technicalities, but it might set you in the right direction.

First of all, MSN plus or messenger discovery can often cause these problems. Uninstall and end task them.

Now, I do know that there is a way to block or ruin someones "messenger ID". I believe a messenger ID can be reset by going to a certain file on your computer and deleting it. It'll then re-appear, and you're live ID is reset. Seeing as what you said about this Josh guy, he might of somehow blocked your ID and you might wanna have a little google in how to reset it. I'm not sure of the exact technical name for this ID I'm afraid. Hope I've helped.

Someone probably bombed the windows live login with fake passwords, it'll reset in ~24 hours and you'll be able to login again.

Or it's just fat fingers I dunno.
