Good morning :) (well it is morning now)

What natural disasters have you been in? And was you scared when it happened? Most people will say something like flood maybe if you are in England. I'm in Folkestone and we had an earthquake last year, it was all over the British news. I wasn't hurt but I thought it was terrorism at first, because there was a gas leak and I smelt smoke but it was nothing. I was really scared waiting for the telly to come back on (power went out) and when I went on sky news, I saw a helicopter going over the town and my house was in it :D I wanted to run outside and wave but nerves stopped me, I didn't know what I was doing!

That doesn't really class as a 'disaster'...

Yeah the earthquake in England was extremely minor. A natural disaster is simply... a disaster. I was involved in the Floridian hurricane of 1998, which devastates huge areas of America.

Ok so they aren't disasters, but the term natural disasters covers tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes etc. Its probably one of the closest thing to a natural disaster in Britain seeing as we don't get many.

I was in a caravan park asleep when a little tornado hit it, our caravan was chained up but there was a little caravan and a car chucked into a river. All I could hear when I woke up was my brother and sister in the other bedroom shouting "theres a piece of paper spinning in circles!" Luckily, noone was hurt.

My mum was in Boscastle when the big flood happened. She didn't have to be rescued though :P Some people went in the shop she was in and said the river was about to burst and so they all moved away.

OH, and the earthquake earlier this year...

A little sudden flooding here in London and I wouldn't call it natural but when the fuel tanks in Hemel Hempstead containing fuel for heathrow exploded it shook the groung here and rattled the bins.

I was also in one of those a year or two back, I really thought it was the end of the world :P We lived in a flat so it was higher up and therefore shook the shook the ground more.

I was in the Florida Keys in 2005 when Hurricane Wilma (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Wilma) struck. That was really bad, we had to take refuge in one of these massive bunkers. I go to Florida basically every year and that's the only one so if you look into it like that, I'm relatively lucky ;)

I haven't,

a gas station blew up next to my house though, that was kinda scary... far from a disaster though.
