Should the edit time be removed altogether, and you can edit your own posts whenever?
Should the edit time be removed for the first post in a thread, so that you can make project threads and edit the first post?
Should the edit time be extended to longer?
Or should it stay as it is?
Discuss.
Make there be no edit for the first post.
The rest, no. will get abused

This should be a VIP feature tbh, being able to edit your post whenever you wish

I think if the edit time infinite for all posts it will get abused alot. People will edit MOD edits etc
But I do think it should be extended as 15mins is not alot of time

The edit time effects everyone unless you moderate the forums.
There is no way making it so only certain groups can bypass apart from Admins. Supers and Mods.

I think it should stay as it is. If you've got anything to add to a topic you are allowed to double post anyway. If you extend it then people will abuse it (as people have said above).

Yeah but, if it's on about page 6, and your thread has 8 pages, hardly anyone is going to see that. Right now I want to add another poll option to make it an option for VIP's.

It'd be nice if it was a little longer, but it's fine at 15 mins really.

Doesn't need to be changed, but users have to be made aware they won't get punished if they're adding information to their last post (as long as it's outside the edit time - assuming noone else has posted!)
If you want something adding/editing, just simply ask a mod xD

The only mod that actually bothers editing is Jesus. I've seen Moderators like Hitman (as an example) online, so I report the post asking for it to be edited, and it only gets edited by jesus when he comes online.

May be doing other jobs..

I think the edit time you get is plenty of time.
If you allow people to edit posts at any time they could be changed, destroying evidence of rule breaking, causing more rule breaking or be used to get one over on other people.
There is not much need at all for editing your posts later on, you have the 15 minutes there for the reasons that may need it.

I waited like 4 hours ;-;
Also, Yoshi, what about project threads that need addition to once you've completed something?

There has been a thread about this recently and I think a decision was made to keep it as it is.
Mods are pretty accommodating if you want something edited or added. :)

The edit time we have given (15 mins) is more than enough to edit your post to fix any spelling mistakes, grammer errors and add anything you forgot to mention. If you want to add more information to a thread it's best to post a new reply :).
I am glad to see (from the poll results) that people understand why we have put a limit on the edit time and why we only give 15 minutes of editing time.

it's good as it is, but it's dead ******* annoying when they tell you to stop double posting when it's CLEARLY past editing time, but yeah 15 minutes is fine.

That seems like a good idea, because if the thread has changed drastically like they've added completely irrelevant information, then a moderator has the power to close/edit etc. It's like updating a project on a website with comments, you can see how it progressed, so sounds like a very good idea :D
Should the edit time be extended to longer?

Stay as it is, the time itself is very good. If you want to add information, do so after someone else has posted. If no-one posts after it, then it's clear that the discussion is a bit boring then. Also, if you're in a heated discussion you would be checking what you've written anyway :S
In quote :)
Plus I disagree with making it a VIP feature, because it's not exactly an amazing feature to have, to edit posts at anytime plus they're capable of abusing it too. If Habbox needed new VIP features, they should find features which are amazing, not something small like editing :P
vip feature tbh but even then people may abuse tbh, reversing mod edits etc..

Even though it would make things a lot easier, itwould be abused all the time. :(
I think it's fine as it is and shouldn't be changed.

No, it should stay the same. The whole point that the edit limit was removed was so the thread starter couldn't change the first post and change the topic of the post.

I was just thinking of it for project threads. Moderators never edit things in when asked.

If its infinate then people will abuse it. But I DO think non-VIP should be able to Close threads.

In which case PM me and I'll personally do it for you, moderators can do it at their discretion. It isn't in their job description so they're free to refuse, but on the other hand they won't be in trouble if they do, as long as you don't take the mick and ask for an update every day or something, in which case thyey'd understandably get annoyed and refuse.

Well there's an unlimited time for editing, and even deleting posts on another forum I belong to, but I guess it's just down to the maturity and trust of the users.

I think that making the edit time infinite for only the first post is a good idea. I'm sure many people will also agree.
With the exception of that, the edit times for everything else should stay as they are. :)
