I need a good computer desk, preferably a 'U'/'L' style.
It needs to be able to cope with:
2x 22" monitors
1x 19"
2x 23"
x2 tower computers
microphone
webcam
room for writing
and room behind it for an ergonomic chair.
And preferably birch color. But that isn't definite.
Thanks!

Hi there :)
Do you have a shop in America called 'Argos'? They're here in the UK and they sell a lot of things including some really good computer desks. Thats all I can suggest, sorry :)

I do not recommend Argos. Desks are flimsy.
Look in IKEA.

Why are people saying they don't recommend Argos? It's alright for desks I think. I have always got my desks from there without any hassle, and they're good quality :)

Flimsiness is an issue for me. Infact I'm using my sisters desk as one from Office Max just fell apart.
I'm English originally, and I know Argos.
We don't have it here, though we do have IKEA.
I'm thinking of building my own desk.

I'm using an IKEA one, so look in that direction. There is something about cheap, unassembled furniture that is so attractive ;)

Yes, use ikea.
Only 10 hours of trying to figure out how to set it up and then find out one of the screws is missing.

Well the best desk I know of is the iGo Desk which is truely amazing. However it wouldn't fit your requirements, but just incase anyone else if looking for a great desk ;) Pureposely built to take Apple products with places for iMac and Mac Mini. At night it makes the room light up with under lights, looks the sex!

That thing is hideous!
Ermm, I couldn't find a desk to fit my requirements, so what I did was I bought just a stand desk, 7ft long and bought a plank of wood, varnished it and screwed it ontop, it does the job now and added about another 3ft square ontop aswell.

It's not hideous when you see it in real life, in pictures it looks like something from Argos. When you actually see it and use it you see why people love it. It suits the looks of the iMac perfectly.

I don't see the point in a 'desk' which only holds the computer, I would much prefer a good desk where I could put other stuff on the desk.

iGo looks ugly.
I'd like the IKEA Jerker desk, but they discontinued it.
I'm going to build my own.
