The price of the iPod touch has risen dramatically. The 8GB version now costs £20 more than it originally did and the 16GB one has risen by £10. I never checked the price of the 32GB version but I'm assuming thats risen too. It's surprising as prices are meant to go down rather than up. They must be expecting a big iPod touch boom now that they are selling movies in the uk and are yet again being greedy and asking for more money.

It never used to be £200 on the apple store. I always remember it saying from £180

This might have something to do with WWDC08?
They will eventually be doing away the current style of iPod and replacing it completely with iPod Touch type models.
The price rise may also be to slow saturation.
