I got bored today so I went down to my local Gamestation and bought a 360 HD DVD Player with 300 and The 40 Year Old Virgin. Cost me £25 altogether. I know it's a dead format, but at that price it's good.

Yeah I must say I was tempted earlier, you can use them with Vista as well as Xbox 360's which would be handy.

I would use it on Vista but there is no software that will play back. There was some a few months ago but HD DVD support is being phased out.

Gamestation sell it for £20 or £25 with 2 HD DVDs.

That's a good price, but yes, HD-DVD is dead. Invest in a PS3 for Blu-Ray if you're after high-definition quality, as it's cheaper than actual Blu-Ray players, and it was confirmed that XBOX is never getting the ability.

But I heard that the 360 might get an add-on Blu-ray player... they might not have to splash out £300?

I know the Blu-Ray is better and not a dead format, but I wanted a 360 :) I don't think it really has been outright said that there will not be a blu-ray player for 360 but it's unlikely it seems.

I was watching the PlayStation Day conference at the Indig02 in London, and it was confirmed that Blu-Ray is exclusive to the PlayStation 3 as far as consoles are concerned.

Blu-Ray is successful internationally. The amount of Blu-Ray players will greatly outnumber the games consoles.

that is as far as consoles go and so what 360's can't get it I have a few million more players/PS3's that can play that too
